I’ve got some thoughts on Ironheart, now streaming on Disney+.
First off, I’m all about Marvel and the MCU. I may not be a comic book expert, but superheroes? I'm here for it. Even DC has a place in my heart when I'm in the mood for it.
Now, let’s talk about Ironheart. As a Black woman building something with the She’s Rising Incubator, I couldn’t help but see parallels between Riri Williams and our journey. In those first six episodes, how many times did she have to rebuild her suit? It felt like a reflection of our own lives. We work hard, we achieve, and then, sometimes, it feels like it’s all torn apart.
In the show, Riri had to rebuild her suit at least four or five times. Each time, it symbolized resilience—something that resonates deeply with us, especially as we strive to protect and provide for our families and communities.
Maybe it’s because I’m going through my own challenges, but I found so much power in that narrative. It’s about perseverance, no matter how many times we face setbacks.
I’m really hoping for a season two, especially after that intense ending scene. What did you think about Ironheart? Drop your thoughts in the comments below. Let’s keep the conversation going!
And just a heads up, let’s keep the discussion respectful. I will be deleting and reporting any negative comments or anything related to race or discrimination. We're here to talk about the show and enjoy our love for superheroes. Thanks for understanding!
