Christmas Movie Night Brings Holiday Cheer To DOTHAN Families
Families across DOTHAN are invited to bundle up, grab their blankets, and enjoy a festive night under the stars as Dothan Leisure Services hosts a Community Christmas Movie Night on Friday, Dec. 19.
The free event begins at 6 p.m. and is hosted by Dothan Leisure Services’ Therapeutic Recreation Program, offering a welcoming and inclusive holiday experience for residents of all ages and abilities.
The evening will feature a public showing of the holiday favorite Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas. Concessions, including popcorn and hot chocolate, will be available for purchase, along with a local food truck offering additional dining options.
Adding to the excitement, organizers say the Grinch himself will make a special appearance, giving families the chance to snap photos and create lasting holiday memories.
The event is open to the public at no cost. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets and enjoy a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere filled with Christmas spirit.
Those attending will also have the opportunity to learn more about the upcoming Polar Plunge and register during the movie, offering a fun way to kick off the new year.
Dothan Leisure Services and the Therapeutic Recreation Program say the event reflects their ongoing commitment to providing accessible, community-focused programs that promote inclusion, recreation, and meaningful engagement.
