Seanversations with Guy Capecelatro III is now live on our YouTube channel! Guy has been a pillar of the Seacoast music scene and regional music and arts community for a few decades and is renowned for his prolific songwriting capabilities. He has hosted the annual Writers Retreat on Star Island, hosts Writers In The Round, and can be seen/heard playing with his own and various other bands throughout the region. There never existed a more humble and gracious human, and he's beloved by all who know him. It's not the easiest task to get him to go on about himself, but Sean makes his best attempt to open the veils just a bit so our audience can get a peek at this genuine local hero. Enjoy a nice chuckle at Sean doing quick, simple math wrong in his head, too! All in good fun.

More meaningful than fame and riches, more important than awards and acknowledgments, and more impactful than sold-out tours, is the work being done by greats within this community, enabling artists to 'pass the light' to the next generation of artists and creative thinkers. We commend Creative Guts hosts Laura Harper Lake and Sarah Wrightsman for doing the work to create a platform that enables that to happen, for bringing in greats like Lindsay Paige Garfield and Jon Nolan to share with the kids their experiences in, and love for, music, and for helping to highlight a sentiment that we think most artists feel; popularity doesn't rule over the compulsion to create art. When it's pure, popularity doesn't enter the equation, it's all about genuine expression.

Devastation rings through the community of musicians and artists throughout the Seacoast today, as another beloved venue is set to close. Those within the community will now, again, scatter to the remaining stages, a shrinking number, and the silver lining is that this will cause another swirl, or mixing of those creators within the scene. It’s not a huge positive, but there’s enough negative to go around, and we need to all work to find the positive and magnify it.

Thank you to the staff of Book&Bar, to the owners for giving it as long a run as they could, and we hope a less expensive piece of real estate emerges and you try it again. We’ll be there for you if you do.
