I didn't get to do a post this past Tuesday because I was in Texas, but I still wanted to make sure to share this, even if I'm a few days late.

On May 26th 2025, I lost my friend, and brother in Christ, Carlos "Los" Lopez. This past Tuesday marked 1 year of him being gone. I still remember hearing the news about him passing, I unfortunately couldn't fully process everything at the moment because I was at church for music ministry practice. In general I tend to take awhile to process difficult moments like these as it is.

In the following days, I had lost all creativity and inspiration to make music. I would try, and nothing seemed to come out. It wasn't until a few days later I decided to make a beat dedicated to Los, and then things started to flow again. It ended up being something fairly simple, but it still was a reflection of how I was feeling. That was my very first beat I was able to make after he passed, it was like my way of grieving and being able move forward to create more.

I'm tapped in with the source of all creation, which is why I choose to make everything from scratch. My inspiration and talent is God given, so I give Him full liberty to be glorified through whatever comes out.

Would using loops be easier? Does sampling sound good? Would using AI help with ideas? The answer is yes to all of these, but I get more satisfaction coming up with melodies and chord progressions myself. It may take longer, but you're getting the rawness of me.

Don't limit your potential, exercise your creativity, and you may discover that you're more capable than what you think. Love y'all!

TIME TO WORK! 💪🏼

I have some time to myself, which doesn't happen often, so that means I get to get some work done. As a husband and now a father, it's tough to balance having a regular "9 to 5" job and trying to build a business/brand on the side. Sometimes it feels impossible, it feels like there's not enough time in the day, and like I have absolutely no energy to do anything.

It's a constant balance of working on things, but also making sure that I'm present for my wife and daughter. There's always a compromise on whatever I decide to put my time into, so it's a tough balance at times, but I'm always trying to get better.

Shout out to my fellow people who are trying to work toward their dreams and goals, while balancing family time and other responsibilities. Keep pushing forward!

My vision seems delusional because I don't see any limitations, but if I limit my potential, then I limit the one who created me. He deposits talents, ideas, and creativity, so why would I set them aside and not take action?

I see the Sound Legend brand being a worldwide thing, none of the glory will go to me, I'm just a vessel. This is bigger than me, this is to spread the gospel, to build community, and to build a legacy. You are an early witness of the beginning stages.

WOULD LOVE TO KNOW YOUR THOUGHTS

- Are you fine with just transactions, purchasing a beat and that's it?

- Would you prefer if producers promote the song(s) as much as you do?

- Do you find value or purchasing several beats and making a collaborative project with you and the producer so that way you both can promote it?

I try and promote the songs by creating content around the finished songs whenever people purchase beats from me. I see all the work that artists put in to promote their music in order to generate income from streams, and I don't see a lot of producers doing the same.

I would think that it would be beneficial to the artist if the producer puts in just as much effort, but I've never really heard whether that's the case or not, so I figured I would ask.

I also try and push making collaborative projects with artists, that way we can both be promoting it, and potentially get a much better response. That way the heavy lifting isn't only on the artist's side, while the producer already gets paid for the beat. I know artists have to invest a lot in order to even make a song and get it distributed to streaming platforms.

Just some of my thoughts, but I would love to hear your perspective!

Time to get back to business...

I've taken a slight break, you may have not noticed, because the enemy has been attacking like crazy. Stopped posting for a few weeks because I needed to get some things situated. Now I'm back and ready for war.

For some time now I've been feeling strongly that the enemy has been trying to destroy my reputation, my character, my marriage, my talents, and my purpose. I've never claimed to be perfect, I just try to be better than I was before, and continually ask God to transform my heart, heal wounds, and close any open doors I may have. I fail Him daily, but I'm grateful for His mercy, grace, peace, and strength that He gives me to continue pushing forward.

I'm grateful to God for the fact that He never condemns, but that He convicts. We can be quick to judge others for sinning differently than we do, or quick to forget about our past and what we used to do on the regular. Nobody is better than anybody else, no matter how much "good" we do now, it's all like filthy rags in comparison to the the Holiest one.

I appreciate the ones that have been there for me during these past few weeks, have spoken life into me, and encouraged me to keep going and to do better. I'm someone who has always been reserved and private about my personal life, but I know I need more solid people in my life to be transparent with.

I share this because since the beginning of starting this brand and business, I wanted to share my process to hopefully bring hope to others that may be in similar situations, that includes things that have nothing to do with business. Everybody is going through something, especially fellow believers. We have our doubts, our struggles, our lows and our highs, and we need each other to help manage through it all. So if you're ever feeling down, need some encouragement, or want to talk or vent, send me a DM and I'll do my best to be of help and to pray for you.

In the midst of all this, I came up with a new merch design, inspired to encourage others who are going thru a difficult situation. Be on the lookout! It will be made on premium quality material for those who like to invest in higher quality products.
