Just another day on the job, but then I saw my reflection and couldn't help but think about my journey. From my mission to building a family and serving as a Marine, I've grown so much. Now, I feel a burning fire within me, wondering, "What's next?"
No matter where I go I told myself, “I can do it”

Life’s full of opportunities sometimes you have to look at yourself in the mirror or do some self reflection to realize. You still got fight left in you to get better each day.

In these days, standing for what you believe requires moral courage. Defending truth about faith, family, and divine identity isn’t always easy or popular.

But we weren’t sent to blend quietly into the crowd—
we were sent to stand as witnesses of truth.
“at all times, in all things, and in all places.”

Courage without love becomes pride.
Love without courage becomes silence.
Peace, love, and freedom cannot come to pass when we are silent.

The Savior calls us higher to speak truth with conviction,to listen with kind intent,serve others even when mocked, and to remember that every soul is a child of God.

This battle between light and darkness
will not be fought with swords or rifles alone, but mainly spiritually— as Paul taught:
“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, powers,
and the rulers of the darkness of this world.” (Ephesians 6:12)

Stand firm.
Speak truth.
Serve with love.

If you look around most people are choosing to be average or comfortable. Being comfortable and being okay with being average kills innovation and makes a society that produces weak people.

You as an individual need to understand that all great things will require you to cry, sweat and bleed for victory because the rewards of this life come with time, sacrifice and hard work.

A few years ago, while on a religious mission, I had the opportunity to visit Mauna Kea. The feeling away from civilization gave me a good spiritual and mental reset.

This was cool to notice because I was studying how nature and mountains play a crucial role in many religions and spiritual practices. Many of our well-known religious figures have had experiences in mountains and nature. Examples such as when Moses went up on Mount Sinai and received the Ten Commandments, Buddha achieved his great awakening as he meditated under a tree at Bodh Gaya, Mohammed was on a retreat in the hills of Mecca when he received his vision, and Jesus Christ was in the garden of Gethsemane when he began to bleed for the sins of humanity. All of these religious accounts point to the fact that we should get out more and enjoy nature. Even though you may not be spiritual, having a good reset outside of civilization doesn’t only reduce stress. It also gives you time to sit and to think or even to ask yourself this question, “Who am I, and what do I want to do in my life?”.

My invitation to everyone is to 1) Plan a time to visit nature, whether on a hiking trail or a beach, etc., and 2) have an open mind. 3) bring something to write down any thoughts or impressions that you may have. It’s in places where we have time to think and are not distracted that we get some fantastic ideas for what we would like to become in life.

I promise you that when we get connected more with nature. We can appreciate the world around us. We also get to enjoy the experience we have of living life.

Life gets tough when you’re out in the cold. Having to hike back to camp with wet boots with weight on your back as the roads ahead are just full of slush and icy terrain. However uncomfortable your situation may seem or what type of training you undergo to improve your own set of skills. One thing is certain, there is beauty along each step of the journey of life. Light will always be there to pierce through the darkness. Keep pressing forward until you reach your destination but don’t forget what you learned during your journey that got you to where you are now.
