My favorite part of having a guide dog, so far, is getting to watch the sunsets without being afraid of walking home in the dark with just a white cane.

I was SUPER impressed by the accessibility features on this airlines flight when I was flying to Morristown,NJ to attend for a month!

Thank you to for helping me with the video description.

VD: The video takes place onboard a United Airlines flight and shows a close-up of the in-seat entertainment screen. Someone opens the Settings menu and navigates into the Accessibility section. A hand interacts with the touchscreen, scrolling through clearly labeled accessibility options on a blue interface with white text.
The menu displays a wide range of built-in accessibility features, including Audio Descriptions, Text to Speech, and Explore by Touch. Additional voice customization options are shown, such as Voice Volume, Voice Speed, and Voice Pitch. Vision-related settings are also visible, including Text Size adjustment, Magnification, High Contrast Text, Color Correction, and Color Inversion. Captions and Subtitles options appear as part of the accessibility menu as well.
As the screen scrolls, some features include detailed on-screen explanations, while others offer tutorial buttons that provide step-by-step guidance. The video highlights how comprehensive and customizable United’s accessibility options are for travelers with different vision and audio needs.

I recently attended one of the multisensory tours in Downtown St. Pete, designed for people with low vision.

Candi, our tour guide, did an amazing job vividly describing each painting or sculpture on the tour. Each stop was supplemented with either a scent, texture, or sound.

I was so impressed with the accessibility initiative and can’t wait to see how they expand the program!

The next time they’re doing this tour is Dec 16 1-2pm. Register in advance on their website!
This video is not sponsored, just sharing a great accessible experience.

VD: The video opens with Monica standing in the entryway of The James Museum, waving before walking forward with her white cane.
Next, the exterior of the museum is shown with its warm sandstone walls and cowboy artwork hinting at the Western theme inside. The group walks toward the elevator.
Monica touches the sandstone walls, feeling how the surface is smooth one way and rough the other. A painting of a Native American in a bison-fur coat appears, followed by Monica smelling a smoky campfire scent and touching both sides of a bison pelt.
The next clip features a sculpture of a Native American holding rope and listening to a radio, then a lifelike painting of an older Navajo man. Monica explores the texture of turquoise stone, then the surface of a bronze cowboy statue while wearing gloves.
Finally, she presses a button that plays the sound of an elk next to a portrait of one, a multi-sensory touch that brings the art to life.
