Just now, an older gentleman (manager) behind the counter of subway gave me 15% off and an extra cookie at the airport. We didn’t talk much, or have any lengthy interaction. I asked the price of each thing before ordering- he seemed to pick up on my attempted airport frugality and didn’t mention the discount or make note of his own kindness. Just a quick and simple decision.
During the transaction, he gave me a genuine sense that he cared about me wholeheartedly. I’m sitting here thinking that he probably approached people with that same energy all day.
