It’s easy to talk about large issues. It’s harder to do something about them.

This week on Cultivate with Alex Canavan, Alex is joined by Andrew Lunetta, founder and executive director of A Tiny Home for Good.

A Tiny Home for Good is a Syracuse-based nonprofit dedicated to building and managing dignified, affordable housing for individuals and families experiencing homelessness.

Andrew launched the organization in 2014 after nearly a decade working in local shelters. There, he saw firsthand the gaps in housing and long-term support for those who needed it most.

Under his leadership, A Tiny Home for Good has grown from an idea into a network of tiny (and not so tiny) sustainable homes across the city. Each home is paired with ongoing case management to help tenants move toward lasting stability. 🔗 Learn more: atinyhomeforgood.org

This episode isn’t about non-profit work in the traditional sense. It’s about seeing a broken system up close and deciding to build something better.

In this week’s episode of Cultivate with Alex Canavan, Alex sits down with Monica Merante, Senior Director of Philanthropic Services at the Central New York Community Foundation (CNYCF).

Monica has spent over a decade at the Central New York Community Foundation helping donors build legacies that last — connecting families to causes that reflect their deepest values and teaching the next generation what it means to give with purpose.

And after just one conversation with her, it’s easy to understand why people trust her with something as personal as that.

This episode is an invitation to explore what you stand for and how to build a legacy that reflects it.

If you’ve ever felt called to do more, give more, or make a greater impact with what you have, this is a great place to start.

When it comes to entrepreneurship, everything is figureoutable. ✍️

There were so many powerful takeaways from this week’s episode of Cultivate with Alex Canavan.

Joining Alex is special guest, Kate Brodock.

Kate has spent nearly two decades inside the startup ecosystem — investing in early-stage, women-led companies, building platforms for women founders and investors, and operating at the intersection of venture, leadership, and community.

Kate is the General Partner at The W Fund, CEO of SWITCH, and now, the CEO & General Partner of 9Fresh, where she’s leading the full redevelopment of the former Cazenovia College campus.

In this conversation, Alex and Kate discuss stepping into opportunities you don’t see coming, making high-stakes decisions without a roadmap, and how to keep showing up with clarity and conviction when the path forward isn’t obvious.

If you’re someone who’s figuring it out as you go — and doing it anyway — this episode is for you.
