Press Release
The Sunflower County Library System announces the 2021 Summer Library Program. “Tails and Tales” is the theme for this summer featuring stories and programs pertaining to animals. Patrons are invited to try something new: learn new facts about animals, read a new book, try a new craft or art project, explore science and engineering experiments, meet new people, and discover what your local library can offer during the summer vacation time.
Make time to participate whether in person, at outdoor events, or online through our virtual programming (Zoom or YouTube). Summer reading activities will begin June 1, 2021 and wrap up July 30, 2021. These activities are great for children and they help prevent the “summer slide” when children lose some of their achievement gains made during the school year.
The library can provide educational and fun enrichment activities at no cost. Make a point to help a child participate in our summer reading programs. There are summer reading activities for adults, too. Be a positive role model and participate.
Let the library showcase your pet on our page. Send in a video or photo of someone reading to your pet or better yet, your pet reading to someone! Videos or photos can be sent to the Henry M. Seymour Library, Indianola via email or through our page.
