This week on Mallett & Michelle on Dripping Springs, we welcomed Dr. Matt Evans, equine veterinarian, Texas A&M grad, stand-up comedian, author, oil painter, husband and father of two. A man with six different careers and apparently no desire to sit down.
Matt spends his days dealing with thousand-pound animals that might kick him and his nights entertaining audiences that might be even harder to handle.
We talked horses, comedy, marriage, life... and for reasons nobody can adequately explain, a**l glands came up an alarming number of times.
Seriously. More than once. More than twice. At some point, we should’ve started a drinking game.
We’d like to say this was an educational podcast. And technically, a veterinarian WAS present.

Dripping Springs probably doesn’t need another pizza place or another bank. Some folks would say we don’t need another church either.
But maybe we do need another shepherd.
Pastor Brock Stamps joined us on Mallett & Michelle to talk about the how, why, and what now behind planting Stone Oaks Church right here in Dripping Springs and what he sees happening with families, kids, faith, and church in our community.
We also get into some of the bigger questions: Is church cool again? What are our kids facing today? And yes… we even talked about our feelings on the whole “pastor on a video screen” thing.

Steve is officially BACK FROM THE DEAD. Okay, maybe a little dramatic, but after open-heart surgery, he’s earned the title.
A few weeks ago, Steve stepped away from business and the mic for something slightly more important than real estate and podcasting: having his chest cracked open and his heart repaired.
Now he’s back, healing well, feeling stronger, and already asking when he can hike, run, swim, climb something ridiculous, or otherwise completely ignore the phrase “take it easy.”
Spoiler: the answer is still NOT YET, STEVE.
In this quick 45 minute update, we talk surgery, recovery, the things nobody warns you about, what surprised him most, and what happens when you tell an extremely active man to sit down and behave

Podcast family was in the house. 🎙️
We sat down with sisters Shelly Grabe and Jody Wynn of Shody Media and the Adjacent Podcast, and let’s just say… Steve was heavily outnumbered. 😂
These two are smart, funny, wildly different, and clearly built for storytelling. We talked sisterhood, podcasting, family, business, special education, and the beautiful chaos that comes with building something together. This one felt less like an interview and more like catching up with friends who just happen to have microphones.
UPDATE ON STEVE: ❤️
We are officially two weeks out from his open-heart surgery, and I’m so happy to say he is doing incredibly well. The prayers, meals, messages, check-ins, and well wishes have meant more than we can possibly say. You really find out how loved someone is when life throws a big detour in the road and Steve has felt every bit of that love.He’s healing, getting stronger every day, and knowing Steve… he’s probably already plotting his return to the microphone and the running trails. 😂
