As of Friday, only 2468 Republican votes had been cast. This is trending to be a very low turnout election.
I have said multiple times that I am not a politician.
Honestly after going through this process, I dislike politics now more than ever.
My opponent is a career politician with 16 years in this role. He has had more money spent on his behalf, in a primary, by lobbyists and dark money super PACs than what most families make in an entire year.
He sponsored a gambling bill that most folks never knew existed. To me , it has always been about transparency as much as the issue.
Since early March, I have said I would attend city council meetings from Kite to Cadwell. I will hold town halls, and I know some folks do not like speaking publicly so we can use the written format with a moderator. Whatever it takes to engage the public on big issues to find out what WE want to do.
Too many decisions have been made behind closed doors by a small group of insiders. When these types of things happen in Washington DC we get upset but when it happens closer to home with names of people we know, we overlook it.
I saw a need for change in the way we do things , so I stepped up. Since then I have been ridiculed, mocked and called names but I still showed up. We had a public debate and I encourage everyone to go watch it before you vote.
If you want more transparency, less backroom politics and someone willing to listen then I am asking for your vote.
