Diane Cassandra Fields was last seen alive at her home on Celia Drive in East Dublin, Laurens County, GA, on November 4, 2014. Two days later, on November 6, 2014, she was reported missing.

A SAFE CROSSING!!

We are finally implementing the long-awaited restoration and relocation of the W. Jackson Street Crosswalk! You may have noticed when the Georgia Department of Transportation resurfaced and restriped the roadway earlier this year they did not include the old crosswalk. This was to make way for our new and safer pedestrian crosswalk.

This project includes creating safe buffer zones for pedestrians to cross W. Jackson Street with raised and planted bump outs and medians. It also has the dual effect of slowing traffic. The new location of the crosswalk is directly in front of the entrance to Jackson Street Plaza to allow for the most convenient access to additional parking for all in the downtown area.

Once the construction work is completed, restriping of the parking spaces will occur and will result in a net loss of only 2 spaces from what was there with the prior crosswalk. We encourage everyone to use all available parking in our downtown area and do a little walking to stroll through the shops and restaurants and enjoy this nice weather we're having!

Construction work is taking place during the hours of 6PM-7AM to avoid disrupting the heaviest traffic times.
