State Championships on the line this weekend! Please help spread this news!!

Friday Pulaski County School Superintendent Dr. Kevin Siers has invited all Pulaski County fans to participate in two State Championship events involving Cougar and Lady Cougar athletes.

Cougar Wrestling
The Pulaski County wrestling team will be departing the High School today, Friday, Feb. 19, at approximately 10 a.m. to travel to the state championship meet. Several Pulaski County wrestlers will be attempting to bring back championships to the Cougar Nation.

As they depart this morning, Pulaski County law enforcement will be escorting them out of town. Any fans wishing to see them off are welcome to find a spot somewhere between PCHS and the exit to I-81 and give them a wave.

Lady Cougar Basketball
A group of parents have asked that any available fans of the Lady Cougar basketball team meet at the PCHS gym parking lot around 3:45 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 20, to welcome the team to the gym after their pregame meal.

The Lady Cougars will be hosting Louisa County Saturday in the Class 4A State Championship game. Fans have been either limited or not allowed at games this season due to COVID-19 concerns. A limited number of parents will be allowed to the title game, and the group wants to make certain that the team knows the county is behind them.

All who show up MUST WEAR A MASK even though they will be outdoors. Participants must practice social distancing, but signs, horns and school spirit are highly encouraged.

The goal is to form a line outside for the Lady Cougars to walk through as they enter the gym to start getting ready for the game. Fans will be asked to keep their distance from the players and coaches to ensure no issues before or during the game.

The game itself will be livestreamed. The link for that livestream will be released before the game.

Cougar Indoor Track and Field
Monday, March 1, the PCHS indoor track and field team will be heading to Liberty University for the Class 4A State Championship meet. Several Cougar and Lady Cougar athletes will battle for individual titles and the teams also have a good chance at a team title. Plans are being made to give them a sendoff as well. Details will be posted next week.

LET’S GO COUGARS AND LADY COUGARS!!!

Residents are being warned of a Christmas Elf spotted Monday in the Dublin area of Pulaski County. This elf is known for take oatmeal cookies when you're not looking, peeping at Christmas presents, even if they're not his, and pulling on Christmas trees. This elf is reported to have had a haircut, his first, so he may be even cuter now. Expected to be seen with another elf from Georgia just before Christmas.
