2 months ago, I was discussing how to identify your safety threshold. When risk begins to outweigh reward. Questioning how far I wanted to push myself as an old man on a bicycle. I had a loosely defined target just ahead of where I currently am. That very same day, I fell on an entry level maneuver. Injuring a tendon in my foot. Since then, It's been difficult to walk or do much of anything.
I failed on a basic maneuver, which means I'll fail on expert maneuvers too. This event would have steered most towards risk aversion but this J.K Rawlings quote sticks with me. "It's impossible to live without failure unless you live so cautiously, you may not have lived at all. In which case, you fail by default."
I choose to fail in a life worth living. What would you do if you weren't afraid?
