Tuesday night’s trail time with Katie | outdoor adventures & UGC and two moose friends 🫎🫎

This was the first time I’ve got to see a calf drink from their momma! It was aggressively punching her ‘utter’? with it’s head to get the milk flowing.. video right at the beginning in the last slide of this post to see!

I’m so excited to see the fall colors popping out more.. and the race to see them all before ugly season is officially ON 😄🍂🍁💛

Turned out to be stunning up on the Deseret Peak Loop today — bagging Tooele’s county high point for the 3rd time and earning a Timpanogos Hiking Co.® GOAT 🐐 badge for the 2026 Hike Challenge! 💥

Wind gusts over 20mph had us questioning our choices on the saddle.. but I’m so glad the group decided to go for it still. I was colddddd with that wind chill up at 11,000+ feet altitude!!!

Who else has hiked here? It’s an underrated part of the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest tucked into the Deseret Peak Wilderness.. and almost always low trafficked trail.

Distance: 9.38 mile loop
Elevation: 4,199ft gain
Time: 5:37 mins
Difficulty: hard
Conditions: dry trail.. some washed out parts before the south saddle from water- soooo windy! Decent shade but mostly sun outside the tree line. If you do the loop, I always recommend clockwise. It’s extra steep coming up the counter clockwise side. However, heading down the peak (going north) is slower moving due to the steep, pebble rocks that add time to navigate. Easy to follow with good signs at forks. Fall colors barely popping out with the yellow aspens!!
Traffic: low
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️

snowbasin hike last weekend with the dogs before fall colors start to take over! 🐾 🌲

It’s finally much cooler in the mornings again… only a few short months of fun before the long and dreadful dark/cold winter kicks in…. (obviously not my favorite)

📸 devils garden + bryce canyon from last week in 📍Escalante!

I love being in the desert… until it hits 85°… haha. I typically don’t visit southern utah between June-September because it’s so hot.. but it was so fun to explore a few spots I had not been + some for a second time.

This was my first time seeing Bryce outside of winter in the freezing cold and snow. E-biking the road to visit Natural Bridge, some point I forgot the name of, and the Amphitheater was so fun 🚴‍♀️ Will 100% do that again!!

We stopped by Devils Garden before the sun set on Friday evening.. Hole in the Rock road is paved just 1.5 miles away from the Devils Garden turn-off 😮 It’s gonna get way more accessible but I’ve gotta say… it makes the drive sooo much better on your car.

Can’t wait for the next southern utah adventure again, next time hopefully with the dawg 🐾🥾☀️
