Official Statement from Pure Royalty Muziq
Entertainment.
After five years of hosting our Juneteenth Celebration, we have made the difficult decision to discontinue the event in Duck Hill, Mississippi.
Throughout the years, this celebration has been sustained primarily through our own personal resources, along with the support of a dedicated few who believed in the vision. Despite our continued commitment, we have faced ongoing challenges, including limited community engagement, insufficient support, communication barriers, and circumstances that have made it increasingly difficult to continue producing the event at the level it deserves.
Our mission was never centered on profit. Pure Royalty Muziq is not a nonprofit organization, yet we invested our time, energy, finances, and talents into creating an experience that celebrated our history, honored our heritage, and educated future generations about their roots and cultural significance. We sought to pay tribute to the elders and ancestors whose strength, sacrifices, and perseverance paved the way for us today.
Each year, we worked to give back by providing educational opportunities, live performances, food, mentorship, and a safe environment where young people could simply enjoy being themselves while embracing their culture and community.
To everyone who participated, volunteered, sponsored, performed, attended, or traveled from near and far to support this event, we extend our deepest gratitude. Your contributions helped make each celebration meaningful and memorable.
A special thank you goes to our young performers who dedicated countless hours to rehearsals and preparation year after year. Your hard work, passion, and commitment never went unnoticed, and we are incredibly proud of each of you.
As we move forward, we have chosen to focus our efforts on communities and areas where we believe we can continue making a positive impact and receive the collaboration necessary for long-term success.
While we may revisit this event concept in the future, it will not be returning to Duck Hill in the foreseeable future.
Thank you to everyone who supported the vision and helped us create lasting memories over the past five years. We remain committed to uplifting our culture, honoring our ancestors, and investing in the next generation wherever our journey leads us next.
