Trent Severn waterway! Have you ever been through a lock before? Before the great loop we did one lock. Now that we are done we’ve done 100 locks.

We get a lot of “must be nice” and it is. But it’s not nice because we fell into it. It’s nice because this was our goal and we did everything to make it happen. It’s nice because we know the work that went into getting to this point. It’s nice because we are out of our comfort zone and pushing ourselves to learn every day. It’s nice because our hard work has paid off. It’s nice because when something breaks, we know we can figure out how to fix it. It’s nice because we sacrificed other nice things to be here. So yes. Must be nice. And it is. But not for the reasons you think.

One of my favorite loop memories was arriving in NY as the sun was rising. This was our first over night sail. We left from Cape May, went around New Jersey and right into NY harbour

Boat refit coming soon. We are so excited to go home and have some family time. But we are equally excited to put some much needed love into Slacker when we get back. A lot of hard work ahead, but so needed. Life aboard is going to become more comfortable and easier. I hope. And then she’s taking us further south than we’ve ever been.

Also, anyone want to buy a Toyota camper this fall?
