2025 SALA Regional Lifeguard Championship

Duck Surf Rescue placed 2nd in the Small Beach Division at the South Atlantic Region Lifeguard Championship in Nags Head, NC.

2025 SALA Regional Lifeguard Competition starts tomorrow and we are excited to be sending a team!!

Regionals will be in Nags Head at Jennette’s Pier. Competition will run through Wednesday, July 16th and Thursday, July 17th. Staring at 11:00 am on Wednesday and 8:00 am on Thursday.

We hope to see all of you out there cheering on the competitors!! 🌊🛟☀️

We hope everyone had a fun and safe 4th of July! The beaches have been busy, which brings hard work and dedication from all of our guards. As we wrap up the second week of July, and we get closer to the half way point of summer, here are a few things to remember when going to the beach!

🛟 Know before you, check out the local conditions or ask the lifeguard at your beach about the conditions of the day!
🛟 Take plenty of water for a full day at the beach to make sure you stay hydrated!
🛟 Pack your sunscreen and make sure to reapply every 80 minutes!
🛟 Stay safe and have fun!

• Landline Rescue

• Board Rescue

4 weeks until Memorial Day… who is ready for the Summer 2025 season?!?

The count down is on!! In just a few weeks our guards will be back on the beach and training for the start of the season. Before we know it we will be guarding the beautiful beaches along the Outer Banks!!

As we approach the end of the season, our operations have changed.

Daily ATV beach patrols have ended. We have supervisors in a truck patrolling until the end of October. If you see someone in need of help… CALL 911!!

Flags poles are being removed and flags displaying the rip current risk and daily advisories are no longer being flown. This does not mean that there is no risk, so to check the daily rip current risk, go to https://www.lovethebeachrespecttheocean.com
