PRESIDENT TINUBU DEPARTS ABUJA FOR EUROPE ON AN ANNUAL LEAVE

President Bola Tinubu has departed Abuja for a working vacation in Europe, as part of his 2025 annual leave.The presidential air plane took off from the Nnamdi Azikiwe international airport at approximately 1:45 this Thursday afternoon. He was seen off by a delegation including governors of Lagos and Imo states, secretary to the government of the Federation, George Akume and ministers. The presidential adviser on information and strategy, Bayo Onanuga,states that the vacation will last 10 working days.President Tinubu will spend the period between France and the UK and then return to the country.

Kogi Governor Directs Political Appointees to Return to LGAs for Grassroots Engagement, CVR Mobilization

Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, has directed all Commissioners and the highest-ranking political appointees in each Local Government Area as well as all appointed Government officials under his administration to immediately return to their respective LGAs to carry out official duties and lead grassroots mobilization for the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise.

The directive, which takes effect from Monday, September 1, 2025, was issued via a circular from the Office of the Secretary to the Government of Kogi State, Dr Mrs Folashade Arike Ayoade

According to the circular, all the appointees of Government are to participate in the exercise under the coordination of the highest ranking appointee from each Local Government. All appointees are expected to coordinate registration mobilization efforts at the ward level and submit a comprehensive report at the end of the mobilization period, detailing the number of new voters registered in their respective Wards and Local Government Councils.

The Governor emphasized that the era of governance being conducted solely from the State Capital must give way to direct engagement with the people at the grassroots. He noted that government officials must remain accessible and responsive to the needs of their communities.

The directive also stipulates that any appointee who wishes to leave their LGA during this period must obtain prior written approval from the Secretary to the State Government, or face disciplinary action.

The development was disclosed in a statement issued to newsmen on Saturday by the Kogi State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Femi Fanwo, who reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to deepening grassroots governance and ensuring massive voter participation in the electoral process.

REALITIES OF OUR TIME Just within three days Ghe Ghe had over 300, 000 views on TikTok, his followers rose to more than 2.3 Million people and he went home with 30,000 United States Dollars just the second day alone.This is only on TikTok and excluding other Social Media platforms.How did he become this powerful?Commercialisation and monetisation of love has become a serious problem in Nigeria. While giving is an aspect and a language of love, when "giving money" becomes the whole essence of love, it becomes a challenge.Our society is approaching a point where a poor man doesn't deserve love. He cease to be a husband, son or even father because lost his job.He is poor, hence deserves no respect. The virtues of honesty, discipline, hardwork, godliness and character are no longer enough to qualify a man.He must be rich, yes very rich and must be seen as rich through extravagant spending. This has become the practice.Recently about five ladies rejected a man on a blind date because he innocently sort for an understanding wife.Implications!Men in Nigeria are under pressure. Even the rich are under pressure. Hard working guys, professionals, business guys, even pastors are under pressure.Have you seen how Nigerian men are going out in droves to marry from other African countries? They were giving lions on TikTok, that should be up to a hundred dollars. Yet they see a saviour in Ghe Ghe.It is a serious matter, we should be calming down.
