Dear Rich & Deena,

I’ve been married to the love of my life for four years. We had a baby last year and that’s been great. The problem is my wife has been self-conscious about her body. Before the baby, she walked around the house in her underwear or naked. She slept naked. She didn’t hide her body at all, and it was great.

But she’s had trouble getting back to the weight she wants to be. I don’t care about that, not even a bit. I truly don’t. She’s still sexy and attractive. Yes, I see the difference, but it’s okay.

Now, if I happen to see her naked, she gets defensive and says, “What are you looking at?” I know it’s not about how I feel but about how she feels. But how can I convince her that’s she’s okay?

Dear Rich & Deena,

My 16-year-old son came home from his friend’s house yesterday and told me his buddy’s mom gave him a massage. He thought it was awesome.

It turns out she is taking classes to get her license and needs people to practice. I get that, but I don’t think this is appropriate. And, she didn’t ask me for permission first.

My husband doesn’t think it’s a big deal, but I worry about the lack of proper supervision, potential boundary issues, and emotional impact on my son. I want to confront her, but my husband and son are against it. I told him can never do this again, but he thinks I am nuts. Am I?

Dear Rich & Deena,
I have been seeing a great guy for the past few weeks, and things have been moving slowly, which is just fine. We’ve gone on several dates, and just recently, he spent the night at my place. So, it’s a big step, right?

Anyway, I was admiring the watch that he had taken off, and he told me, “Thanks, my wife got it for me…”

It was obvious by my reaction that I was NOT expecting to hear that, so he quickly corrected himself and said, “Sorry, my ex-wife…” and left it at that.

I asked him to tell me more about this person, and he said it’s not a big deal—he just slipped up. He explained that they had been separated for a while and just got a divorce earlier this year. Then he said that I was the first person that he’d seen since the divorce and not to worry.

I didn’t press him on it anymore, but now I’m freaking out that he’s still married and I’m “the other woman.” I tried looking him up on social media, but couldn’t find him (he told me already he’s not big on social media). So I’m torn. I want to believe him because he checks all my boxes, but we don’t have enough time built up in our relationship for me to get a gauge on who he is.

Does this make sense? Is this one of those cases where if it’s too good to be true, it probably is? My girlfriends are screaming, “Red flag, red flag, red flag!” But could he be telling the truth? Help!!
