Dear Rich & Deena,

Good morning, guys. I’m emailing you this morning because my best friend has been stalking her ex, and it’s getting creepy.

Long story short, my best friend’s ex broke up with her because he said he wasn’t ready to get married, and she wanted to get engaged. He’s 23 and she’s 22, so I get why he wasn’t ready; he’s still a young guy, and they were only together for a year. My friend really wants to get married and have kids, so they are headed in different directions.

After the breakup, she started acting crazy about him. Instead of just trying to move on and find someone who wants the same things as her, she’s become obsessed with knowing where her ex is at all times. She was never like this when they were together, but now she is acting like a stalker.

She literally follows him in her mom’s car so he doesn’t know it’s her. If he goes to a bar with a restaurant, she watches him. She never confronts him; she just follows him. This has been going on for over a month, and I don’t know what to do. It’s like she knows she can’t be with him but doesn’t want him to be with someone else.

What should I do to get her to stop?
