Friends of Murder Pretty! We need help... We need 1 more actor brave enough to get some fake "blood on their hands," a creepy location to spray said blood, and some ideas on how to raise a few bucks! We had a plan for fundraising but that plan has fallen through. We're trying to get creative with raising some money quick for special FX but we're very open to any and all ideas. ATTENTION DEATH CALM CREW/FANS: We are currently looking for talent/location for our next short film. We need:

MAIN ACTRESS: Female, in her early to mid 20's.

SUPPORTING ACTRESS: Female, her in late teens to mid 20's.

SUPPORTING ACTOR: Male, in his late teens to mid 20's.

SUPPORTING ACTOR: Male, in his 40's to 60s.

SUPPORTING ACTOR: Male, in his 30's-50's.

LOCATION: Duplex, Apartment or Small House. The owner of the location will also get a Producers Credit on the film.

Attention actresses! Our friends at Death Calm Studios are looking for...
a "middle aged woman (Scream queen) for one scene to be used for a Kickstarter campaign and the opening for the upcoming film. She will be the film's first victim. shots will include pov shots running through the woods, her running on a dock and attempting to escape in a canoe before being shot by the killer. Brandon would like to set this up sometime in late September or October. the location is 2+ hours from Duluth but he will provide transportation."

The latest...the scoop of the poop...gnar!

So, it looks like Multiple Stab Wounds will for certain be playing at the Duluth/Superior Film Festival! That's huge for us! Please be there if you can. Because MSW comes in at less that 60 min. Murder Pretty has been given the green light to put together a companion short...planning to shoot a 13 min. dialogue free short called Girl With A Knife. It's about a girl...with a knife...lots of red velvet cake mix will be splashed about during that shoot. Thank you DSFF!

Because our fearless leader is a crazy person person this summer's epic shoot called A Knife In The Face has been changed to PITCHFORK and the script is coming along nicely...

Anyone interested in getting bloody and helping out on Girl With A Knife should say so now...will be scheduling that shoot as the week progresses...

Twisted Trivia: The production of WRONG TURN was almost as excruciating for the actors as it was for the characters. On-set injuries included Desmond Harrington breaking his ankle, Emmanuelle Chriqui dislocating her shoulder, Julian Richings actually being lit on fire and an outbreak of poison ivy rashes among the cast.

okay, so i've been busting my butt trying to write some low brow demonic possession/murder script (American Demon)... it's annoying me, so i'm stepping away and breaking it back down to the basics. Next project will be a straight up slasher flick! Working Title: A Knife in the Face! Plan to start shooting this summer. Look for upcoming kickstarter stuff!

In desperate need of a production assistant for our winter film Bourbon Club. The bulk of the shoot will be in Superior WI. Key responsibilities: assisting DP, yours truly, our sound guy, and getting lunch for cast and crew. Shooting schedule: Saturdays in February 9am-4pm. There may be a stipend involved if our Kickstarter is successful. Regardless, you will be fed, credited in the film, and just all around appreciated. Looking for a PA for our winter production, Bourbon Club. Main duties will be assisting the DP and Sound Engineer as well as retrieving lunch for cast and crew. If Kickstarter campaign is successful you will receive a stipend of $150. If campaign is unsuccessful you will be fed and reimbursed for gas. (If using your own vehicle. We plan to carpool to the location so the number of vehicles is minimal.)

Short Film Auditions:

In Need of Dedicated Actors Seeking Part on College Student Film

Auditions are held in the College of St. Scholastica Science Building, Room 1132 “CSS News Studio.” (Bottom floor, furthest from Somers). Times will be held:

Thursday, January 30th, 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Saturday, February 1st, Noon - 4:00 pm.

Summary:

Two students, Pete and Jerry, struggle with the production of their independent film at a smaller college, while coping with their own personal differences. The film is a mostly dialogue based drama, with three distinct acts. Though seemingly light in subject matter, the film contains darker dramatic elements.

Roles:

Pete and Jerry will be the lead roles, and we are looking for two males, ages 18 to 26 (or, at least, physically appear to be those ages).
There are three female roles, which although minimal in duration, require strong performances. These actresses should also be within the 18 to 26 age group.
Other male speaking roles, which vary in difficulty and time on screen (ages 18 to 26).
There are three roles for adults ages 30 to 60 (two of which could be either male or female, and one which is male).
Extras are extremely encouraged. Even if someone is not picked for a part, they will more than likely be asked to come back and play as extras. The obligation is manageable.
