I wanted to give this dining room a complete refresh, but I knew I wanted the real star of the show to be this vintage Drexel piece. Incorporating vintage furniture as a statement piece adds so much character and soul to a room, but it takes patience to bring that beauty back out. By knocking out the wall painting in record time with the Wagner SprayTech | USA PaintStick EZ Roller, I saved my energy for the hours of scraping, scrubbing, and restoring that this gorgeous wood grain deserved!

Finished it off with a flawless topcoat using my FLEXiO 5000 paint sprayer, and I couldn’t be happier with how this space feels now.

What do you think of the transformation?

Buried beneath layers of paint was a beautiful piece just waiting to be uncovered. After a week of hard work stripping and scrubbing, its gorgeous wood grain is finally free to be the statement piece it was always meant to be!

When a MCM piece has been painted over, there is only one thing to do… strip it down to that gorgeous wood grain!

I started by removing the paint with a stripper, then used acetone to get the rest of the paint out of the wood grain.

Getting through layers of thick paint isn’t always easy, but seeing the original wood tone shine through makes every bit of sanding, scrubbing and scraping worth it.

Would you have left it painted, or brought back the natural wood grain?

So excited to uncover all this gorgeous walnut and bring it back to life!

A $15 Facebook Marketplace gamble turned into a mid-century jackpot!

I bought this dresser without seeing the full piece or knowing the maker. When I realized it was a Lane Brutalist dresser!

She’s been cleaned, restored, and brought back to her original glory. Now, this beauty is officially ready for a new life.

Would you have taken the risk for $15?
