On Monday June 30 2025 Wanamassa Fire Co. Ocean Twp N.J. were treated to a visit from a special little boy at the firehouse.

Meet Gabriel. Gabriel is the child who was rescued by Fire Inspector Simons and Chief Pemberton at a horrific apartment fire in October of 2024. Gabriel has spent 7 months in various hospitals undergoing many surgeries and even more rehabilitation and therapy sessions.

Although Gabriel was badly burned and has endured much more than any kid should have to, he found joy in running around the firehouse and playing on the fire trucks…and just being a kid.

Gabriel’s dad couldn’t thank everyone enough for their efforts in October, especially FI Simons and Chief Pemberton.

We’re glad Gabriel is doing better and is always welcome to come for a visit anytime he wants.

Never Forget The Hackensack (5 ) For those of you that don't know the story. Hackensack fire department responded to the Ford dealership for a fire in the building. Companies immediately went to work And start fighting the fire. Heavy fire in the automotive repair section of the dealership.. During the fire there was an internal building collapse the bowtrust roof because of its heat started to fail & eventually collapsed.. Because of what happened on that day changed the fire service for forever. Today if you look at a building and you see a square white sign with a red triangle πŸ”ΊοΈ and it has the letters F or R that is to show that the building has a trust roof or floor this is to alert all First Responders.
