17 years.

I've never really handled the 22nd of June super well. It's been a hard day ever since 2007.

Last September, I decided to try something new. Instead of just weathering the hard days, I would give myself a little gift to remember her by.

With yesterday being the typically hardest of the days, I decided my little gift should be a bit bigger. So I found myself up in Oscoda and in Lake Huron. I knew the water would be important to helping me, and I wasn't wrong.

I'm so thankful for every minute I got to spend with my mom. I'm also grateful for all the lives I've been able to touch and help thanks to how I was raised.

Remember to give those you love a hug and to make the most out of the time we're given. Our bodies may not last as long as we would like, but the impact we have on others can last for far longer.

As I was on the way to one of the family gatherings for Christmas, I knew I had to make a stop to see the most influential and amazing people I have ever known.

My mom made a lot of sacrifices throughout her life so that I'd have a good life. She always loved to spoil me on Christmas with gifts galore, and it wasn't until after she was gone that I learned about what it took for her to do that.

Now when I look back, it's not the presents under the tree that I remember. It's the smile on her face as she brought joy to someone she loved. It's not about the money put into the presents, it's the thought and love put into them.

Thank you Aunt LeeAnn on the beautiful grave blanket for my mom. And for all who took the time to read this, I wish you a Merry Christmas and may you be gifted someone who loves you in these tough times.

Defenders of the Flame: Session 56

As the party enjoyed the restful expedited trip to Imagina thanks to The Nefarion, theories were made and relationships were altered. All was going well for the the defenders until a never-ending lightning storm started to extend towards them as they neared Imagina.

Deciding to press through, the crew readied for the worst, but the worst was more than they may have bargained for. The clouds formed a large visage of Malphas the Undying before a crackle of lightning that summoned forth a large horde of fiends. Now we join the Defenders in a fight for their life against a massive horde miles above the water.

On my walk this morning I found a beautiful female dog walking around Dundee. She came right up to me in the middle of town. She has been taken care of by the Dundee Veterinary Clinic.

Sadly they are closed today so I don't know how to contact them. If you have any information please reach out to me or the Monroe Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals at 734-823-5241.
