Some of my favorite Disney memories aren't from standing in a queue or hopping off a coaster.

They're from sitting in a theater watching an incredible show, watching the fireworks light up the castle, seeing a parade roll down Main Street, or catching a performance that you simply can't experience anywhere else. ✨

And YES… I absolutely have opinions on which ones are worth building your day around, which ones you can squeeze in between other plans, and which ones are better for certain ages. 😉

Yesterday we talked about slowing down, making memories, and NOT trying to conquer all of Walt Disney World in one trip.

So today we are talking RIDES!!!

Because if you’re heading to Walt Disney World for the FIRST TIME, there are some attractions that I really don’t think you should skip.

These are the rides that, to me, make up so much of the magic that IS Walt Disney World. ✨

Some are the big-time Heavy Hitters with notoriously long waits.

And some are my favorite Perfect Fillers — attractions that are absolutely worth experiencing but can also be great options when you’re waiting for that next Lightning Lane window or just don’t want to spend your entire vacation standing in a queue.

These are my Kylene’s Highlights — the attractions I think are worth prioritizing and have the best story telling especially for a first Walt Disney World visit.

Start with your family’s MUST-DO list.

Pick the rides that would make you absolutely heartbroken to leave without experiencing.

Then build everything else around those.

Because…

✨ You don’t have to ride everything.

✨ You don’t have to wait 90 minutes for everything.

✨ You don’t have to run from attraction to attraction all day.

✨ And you definitely don’t have to leave Walt Disney World exhausted, cranky and questioning every life decision that brought you there. 😂

The goal isn’t to win Walt Disney World.

The goal is to experience the magic.

And THAT is what we’re going to keep talking about all week. 💜✨

I have some families getting ready for their FIRST Walt Disney World vacation and they have already told me they want to hit ALL. THE. THINGS. 🏰✨

Look I absolutely get it!

You’ve been dreaming about this trip. You’ve saved. You’ve planned. You’ve watched the videos. You’ve made the lists. And now your worried that you'll miss something really important. 🙌

But here’s something I tell my clients all the time:

Walt Disney World is MASSIVE.

You are NOT going to see and do everything in one vacation.

And that is perfectly okay. 💜

This week, I’m going to break down Kylene’s Highlights — the things I think are worth making time for, the experiences I think you shouldn’t miss, and some of those little magical moments that can easily get overlooked when you're trying to rush from one thing to the next.

But before we get started, I have one BIG piece of advice:

🐢 TAKE. IT. SLOW.

I KNOW you want to get to all the things.

But please, please, PLEASE make time for downtime.

Sit on a bench and people-watch.
Grab a snack and actually enjoy it.
Let the kids splash around at Moana's: Journey of Water.
Take a stroll around your resort.
Stop and watch the little things happening around you.
Let the kids be kids.

Because sometimes those unplanned, unscheduled little moments end up being the moments your family remembers forever. ✨

Trust me.

There WILL be tears if you try to rush from place to place and aren't actually present in the moment.

And they may or may not be mine. 😂😭

I've been there. I've done the “WE HAVE TO GO, WE HAVE TO GET TO THE NEXT THING!” Disney vacation.

And I don't want that for you.

Here's another strategy I recommend to my clients:

📝 Make TWO lists.

✨ THE MUST-DO LIST:
These are the things you are there to experience and you're not leaving without doing them.

🍰 THE NICE-TO-DO LIST:
These are the things you'd love to do if you have the time.

And if you get through that first list?

The second list becomes the icing on the cake. 🎂✨

Because a successful Disney vacation isn't about how many rides you checked off.

It's about the memories you made.

It's about the hug from Mickey.
The look on your child's face when they see the Castle.
The unexpected character interaction.
The ice cream melting down someone's arm. 😂
The ride you didn't even plan on loving.
The moment everyone is tired, happy, and sitting together watching the fireworks.

THAT is the magic. ✨💜

Because you don't need to do ALL the things.

And right now, EPCOT’s Food & Wine Festival has my full attention. 🌮🍷🍫🌍

Because yes, I want to experience ALL the deliciousness for myself…

BUT I’m also doing the research so I can bring it all back to YOU! 💜

SUMMER IS STILL HAPPENING SOMEWHERE! 🌴🌊✨
