The Chautauqua - Lake Erie region lies along the optimal path, or path of totality, for the April 8, 2024 Total Solar Eclipse, which means having the best & longest eclipse viewing opportunity available!
WNY State is one of the top spots in the world for those who wish to witness the full effects of the eclipse, which you’ll see at approx. 3:18 pm in the scenic & beautiful Chautauqua - Lake Erie Region. This is the first Total Solar Eclipse in New York State since January 24, 1925.
We are publishing this once-in-a-lifetime keepsake special edition tab that will insert Saturday, March 30, 2024 in the Dunkirk Observer, Jamestown Post-Journal and Warren (PA) Times Observer daily newspapers.
We will be partnering with the Chautauqua County Visitors’ Bureau and the Chautauqua County Chamber of Commerce for content and additional distribution sites including the I-86 Rest Area Destination and the Dunkirk Boardwalk/Pier.
The county & surrounding areas are expecting over 400,000 visitors to our area prior & during the Eclipse. That means hotels, b&b’s, campgrounds, restaurants, shopping and souvenir items for the Eclipse will be in demand.
There have already been several events planned before & during the big event locally. We are also welcoming local content from businesses.
