I had the privilege of knowing JT Carter, a founding member of the Crests and the genius behind the iconic hit "Sixteen Candles." He was a legendary Doo-Wop artist whose talent and passion were unmatched. We shared many inspiring conversations about music, and he was particularly fascinated by my approach to beat mixing 45 records in perfect harmony with the rhythm and key.
We were first introduced at the,"Once upon a time in Brooklyn", Premier, IceT, afterparty, Mt. Airy Casino.

I remember telling him about my time DJing "30 Something" on Sunday nights at the Woodlands. JT expressed how much he wished he could have been there—to witness the crowds, feel the electric energy, and see firsthand how I blended music from the '50s and '60s. His enthusiasm and curiosity were truly humbling.
May JT Carter rest in peace, and may God bless his soul. The world has lost an extraordinary artist, but his legacy will forever resonate in the hearts of all who cherished his music.
