After many years of being blessed to breed these beautiful creatures, we’ve unfortunately had to make the difficult decision to retire our breeding program and pare our gliders down to keeping just our “golden girls” (our retired females who live in a single colony). I’ve been fighting several chronic health conditions for the last few years and Matt is often working 60 hours a week, on top of being Mr. Mom because I’m unable to do at all physically. We’ve sort of known this was coming but we’ve been putting it off because genuinely, these gliders are a huge part of our family and daily lives. Many of them were born here so we’ve raised them from joeys, only to watch them grow and become parents themselves.

Every pair listed has an info snippet both under their photos. Prices are also posted. Breaking up bonded pairs is not something we want to do so please keep that in mind. The listed prices are for the GLIDERS only, not with their habitats.

We feed the Sugar Glider Guardians/Alea’s Happy Glider Diet and have been very content with it but we understand if you want to feed a different staple, as long as it’s one that hits all their nutritional needs.

We will be very picky about who these little ones go to. Please make sure you’ve done your research on gliders before reaching out. We will also be having their new family sign adoption papers saying that if they’re unable to continue caring for them, they’ll be returned to our home.

We’re located in Durand, MI which is almost exactly halfway between Flint and Lansing. We usually do glider hand-offs at our local pet store, which is right off of I-69. Each glider will come with their own bonding pouch, as well as a small bag of the Happy Glider kibble to help them transition.

🟢 Sasha and Brecken, bonded breeding pair | classic grey male and mosaic female, both 3 years old | Sasha and Brecken have made some stunning babies and are both fantastic parents; they’ve never rejected a joey. Both were born here and are extremely hand tame and friendly. Brecken is especially inquisitive and bright, whereas Sasha is more easygoing and a very dedicated Daddy. We’re fairly sure Brecken is pregnant at the moment but not certain yet. Their adoption price is 💲8️⃣5️⃣0️⃣

🟢 Boyd and Mila, bonded breeding pair | cremeino male and standard female, both 3 years old | Boyd and Mila were also born here and are the twin siblings of Brecken and Sasha. Like their brother and sister, they’ve also had beautiful babies (primarily cremeino) although Boyd tends to run a bit more high strung than Sasha. He’s a very on the alert kind of dad and Mila is the easygoing one in their household. They’ve never rejected a joey and currently live in a mansion with their sons (Jasper and Casper) as well as their youngest joeys, Harper and Finch. Mila currently has joeys so that’s something to keep in mind— we will want to wait for them to finish growing before Mila and Boyd leave for their new home. They’re adoption price is 💲8️⃣5️⃣0️⃣

🟢 Beatrice, 5 month old female WOW pied chimera mosaic | She’s an absolutely stunning mosaic and utterly spoiled by mom and dad. Bea is probably the most deliciously WOW pied we’ve had here and I’d love to see her go into a breeding program. She’s well tempered and I have no doubt she’ll make an amazing mother. She confess from powdered lines. Her adoption price is 💲 8️⃣0️⃣0️⃣

🟡 Arthur and Alice, bonded pair | neutered black beauty male and strawberry platinum female, both 3 years old | Arthur and Alice have been together for around three years now, since they were both young joeys. They had some successful babies but started to reject babies and Alice made it very clear she was done being a mommy. Arthur has been neutered since February of 2024 but there’s a small chance that Alice could have retained fertilized eggs; gliders can do that for up to a year. They are very bonded and make a great couple. Alice is the more dominant of the two and Arthur is a big old goober; he was born here and is a goofy, sweet guy. I feel like with their personalities, they would do best in a home where they’re the only gliders. Alice is also a big barker so keep that in mind. Their adoption price is 💲5️⃣0️⃣0️⃣

🟡 Bijou and Benjamin, breeding pair | mosaic male and mosaic female, both 2 years old | Bijou was a surprise baby from our oldest gliders— we’d thought they were done breeding when lo and behold, baby Bee popped out with her eyes practically open! She is an absolute angel of a glider and has the sweetest nature. Benjamin is a nippy fellow, though it’s not really about aggression and more so he just … likes to taste you? Because of that, we’d prefer they go to a home with older children but they’re fairly well acclimated to being with other gliders so they don’t mind being next to others. They’ve had two successfully pairings with no rejections and produced an absolutely stunning chimera WOW pied mosaic girl. Their adoption price is 💲1️⃣0️⃣0️⃣0️⃣

🔴 Eric, Ariel and Flo, bonded breeding trio | white face male and two cremeino females, between 2-4 years old | Ariel and Flo are actually mother and daughter. Flo’s father, Sebastian, passed way on the Fourth of July 2022. After losing Sebastian, we decided to keep the girls together so Ariel wouldn’t be alone. Eventually we added Eric, who’s by far and away our biggest glider. He came to us as a biter— his size and uncertainty at being handled was a really bad combo and we handled him almost exclusively with a glove for the first year. Finally, after my husband spent countless hours working with him, he learned that hands are good, people are kind and he was safe. They’ve had multiple successful pairings (almost all white face joeys). Flo did reject her first set of twins but has since had two successfully sets. They all three really flourish together and we’d hate to separate. Because of Eric’s issues being handled in the past, we prefer they go to an adults-only home that has had experience handling gliders or similar style exotics. Their adoption price is 💲9️⃣0️⃣0️⃣

Spent yesterday redoing the micro squirrel habitat and found two very well hidden babies! They’re already approximately 10-14 days old but thankfully they’re very sweet and rather enjoyed being handled and petted; I held them for a few hours! I believe both are girls (I’ll continue to check as they age) and they will be ready for their new homes at the beginning of June.

That said, we also have a pretty big announcement scheduled for later this week that has been a long time coming. I know I owe quite a few people message responses but hopefully this announcement will help to explain why I’ve been so slow to reply.

Welcome to the family, little ones! We just adopted a beautiful little colony of micro squirrels (African Pygmy dormice or APD) and they are beyond cute! These are the three little babies, who still need names. Mom and dad have been christened as Fred and Ginger. 💃🏻 🕺

Another happy surprise! This joey is a little lady from a progressive pied mosaic line that has had almost exclusively female joeys. She’s the granddaughter of our original gliders, who’ve managed to have around 14 joeys in the last 7 years. Of those joeys, only one was a male and the majority were singletons; twins account for 70% of pregnancies so it’s always been an odd thing.

Now their daughter is continuing on the tradition with her second singleton female pregnancy! 🥹 We have another set of parents who we’re pretty sure also have a singleton so ideally, these two will end up going to their new home together in 3-ish months. 🏡

I wanted to share a quick story of what happened to me last night and how it relates to my life and experiences as a sugar glider breeder.

Last night at around 8 PM, I received a message from a woman saying that the glider I had sold her had spontaneously dropped dead overnight. She said that he always received fresh food and water, she cleaned his cage regularly; maybe he had some sort of genetic issue because he had no outward signs of illness. She also said that in the three months they had had him, they’ve never been able to handle him without a glove because he was so aggressive and would bite.

My heart dropped into my stomach and I quickly replied to the woman, asking her what the name of the glider was, as I’d had no previous message history with her and I didn’t recognize her name. As small hobby breeders, I often end up becoming very friendly with our adopters and I did not know this woman.

She told me the name of the glider and his out of pouch date, which 100% lined up with one of my Joeys. They had the exact same name and the exact same birthday, but I knew that my Joey was living his best life with his sister as his mom had just sent me a message the week before.

It ended up that despite the absolutely bizarre coincidence of these two male Joeys having the same birthday and the same name, I was not her breeder and instead it was another local “breeder”. They are more of a third-party broker, who rely on a mill breeder to provide their babies and she sells them via her storefront.

These gliders come from a situation where they have no known lineage and therefore there is no guarantee that there is not inbreeding, which would very likely explain why this five month old glider died without seemingly any cause or reason. I was also quite unnerved and upset to find out that this “breeder” has no problem selling a lone glider, even though it’s very likely that a part of his aggressive behavior was directly related to not having a cage mate. Very rarely do we come across Gliders who don’t do well with a friend and for the most part, an ethical breeder would never sell a solo glider to live by themselves permanently. Matter-of-fact, most of us hobby breeders know each other and we often communicate to coordinate adoptions in situations where we have single Joeys, who will need another suggies to be there forever friend. Without a friend, they can absolutely become neurotic to the point where they injure themselves, starve themselves, their levels of aggression tend to be higher as well.

I was able to get everything sorted with this poor woman who had suddenly lost what she thought and expected to be a pet she would have for the next decade. I advised her on how I would handle the situation, and I hope that her breeder, and I use that term loosely, makes everything right.

I wanted to make this post to further drive home the fact and the importance of buying gliders from morally sound, lineaged, and knowledgeable breeders. Very rarely do pet shops have socialized gliders; it is even more rare for them to have known pedigrees. Most pet shops even charge more money than your average private breeder, despite the fact that our babies are usually handled from the first day they pop their little head out the pouch. This woman ended up paying $30 less than I would’ve charged for the exact same color variation of glider but she is left heartbroken and one sweet little guy who should’ve had a long and healthy life has passed over the rainbow bridge.

So again, to followers of the page and any who may come across this post, I implore you to thoroughly research your breeder. Don’t be afraid to ask for references, don’t be afraid to ask for videos of your Gliders and how they relate to the breeder and being held. Ask questions, make sure to find out that your Gliders parents have lineage so you can help to guarantee that their chances of being in**ed are slim to none. Of course it doesn’t completely remove the chances of them having genetic diseases but it greatly lowers it.

I often get messages from people who are looking for the instant satisfaction of picking up a baby that same day and that’s rarely ever the case in our situation, as we are such a small breeder, but I promise you that the little bit of wait is a small boon to pay for healthy, happy, and well loved companions.

* Photo tax of wee little Jasper, who got to explore our bedroom (without mom and dad) for the first time last night. His brother Casper was tucked up inside of my hoodie pocket and hiding from the world, as he is the very sweet and very shy boy to his brothers great bravado and exploratory nature. 😅 Both are still available for adoption and will be ready (and neutered) the week of Valentine’s Day.

A quick throwback to August 2022. This sweet little boy was named Jet and he went to a wonderful owner in Frankenmuth.

Jet was probably one of our most photogenic Gliders, with a wonderfully calm nature, which made taking his portrait all the more enjoyable. I don’t know what it is about our cremeino and mosaic boys that make them so good at sitting pretty for the camera. 📸

It’s that time again— a mini baby boom! We have two pairs of twins (boy/boy and boy/girl) and two singletons (both girls, that we’d love to see go together). I’ll be reading out to those on our waitlist and replying to all messages that have been sent in the last few weeks!

The twin boys will be ready mid-February, the boy/girl twins and the two little ladies will be available in early March. In the meantime, here’s photos of all the joeys!
