I finally figured out what I want to be when I grow up. ššæ
Okay, in all seriousnessāthis oneās been on my bucket list for as long as I can remember, and I can finally say itās officially checked off! It feels like a dream I never really let go of finally found its way back to me⦠and this winter, I went for it.
Skiing was my first true athletic love. I can still remember those early daysābeing a kid bundled up in snow gear, clicking into skis that felt way too big, and heading to the local slopes with butterflies in my stomach and pure joy in my heart. Some of my most vivid childhood memories are tied to the snow, the slopes, and the freedom that came with flying down a hill.
Even back then, I had this wild dream: to move to Colorado and become a ski instructor. It sounded like the ultimate lifeāliving and working in the mountains, sharing my love of skiing with others, and being part of a community that lives for the snow. But, like a lot of dreams, life took me in a different direction, priorities shifted, and the idea got tucked away in the background.
That is⦠until this winter.
I finally gave myself permission to just "send it"āto go for something simply because I loved it and wanted to take a chance. Coaching has always been a big passionāI love helping people grow, improve, and find confidence in themselvesāand pairing that with skiing just felt right, and it was the perfect time.
So, I became a ski instructor. š
And I can honestly say itās one of the best decisions Iāve ever made. What started as a āwouldnāt it be cool ifā¦ā turned into an experience that exceeded every expectation. I had an absolute blast teaching everyone from wideāeyed little kids taking their first wobbly runs to adults pushing themselves out of their comfort zones. The people, the mountain, the momentsāit all reminded me how powerful it is to connect with the things that light you up and give you a strong sense of purpose.
Ski season wrapped up this weekend, and Iām already looking forward to next yearāexcited, grateful, and curious to see where the mountain takes me this time! ā·ļøāļøš
