Monrovia, Liberia — The political landscape of Liberia has taken a new turn with the official introduction of The Peoples’ Party (TPP) under the leadership of Hon. Joseph K. Bannie. The party has presented a comprehensive platform aimed at rebuilding the nation through justice, inclusion, and economic empowerment.

ECONOMIC PHILOSOPHY AND FREE ENTERPRISE VISION.
The Peoples’ Party has outlined its economic foundation as a Free Enterprise System driven by competition, private ownership, and equal opportunity. The party’s five guiding principles include freedom of business choice, private property rights, competition, customer sovereignty, and profit motivation.
According to the document, the new system aims to remove monopoly practices and encourage all Liberians to pursue business ambitions without elite interference. The plan includes government oversight to maintain price ceilings while ensuring fair competition in the market.
JUSTICE AND LAW ENFORCEMENT REFORM.
TPP has placed justice at the core of its agenda. The party proposes immediate implementation of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s (TRC) recommendations, including the establishment of War and Economic Crimes Courts.
The plan calls for a justice system capable of attracting foreign investment, reducing crime, and recover all government loses. The party also plans to audit past governments to uncover and address corruption.
Inclusive Government and Institutional Reform
The Peoples’ Party envisions an inclusive government with 85% of new and qualified Liberians in the cabinet. A proposed Peoples’ Council (TPC) will represent major sectors including education, medical, security, women, youth, and traditional leadership. The council will review presidential appointments and executive bills before legislative confirmation.
Immediate reforms would include restructuring fuel distribution, shipping regulations, business operations, and government salaries. All government vehicles would be limited to one per official, while contracts and concessions would be revisited to ensure national benefit.
SECURITY, MILITARY AND POLICE EXPANSION.
Security reform is another top priority for TPP. The plan includes rebuilding Liberia’s military under four branches: Army, Marine Corps, Air Force, and Coast Guard. Each branch will receive modern logistics and training to address both internal and external threats.
The Liberian National Police will also undergo reform with technology-driven training, modern facilities, and specialized equipment. Police zoning will be introduced in large cities to improve efficiency with responses.
Healthcare and Medical Reform
To address Liberia’s healthcare challenges, TPP plans to build and remodel hospitals and clinics across the country. The initiative includes government payment for all medical bills for senior citizens and children under 18.
The plan also emphasizes integrating traditional medicine, ensuring modern healthcare technology, and creating jobs for doctors and nurses through nationwide hospital expansion.
EDUCATION AND LITERACY DRIVE.
Education reform will focus on free schooling from kindergarten through high school and government-sponsored adult literacy programs. Schools will be built or renovated in all communities, equipped with laboratories, libraries, and vocational centers.
SCHOOL BUS AND TRANSPORTATION
School bus system will be introduced to government school to ease transportation challenges. The government also intends to establish vocational institutions, including the Liberian Aviation Academy (LAA) to train professionals in aviation fields such as piloting, air traffic control, Aircrafts/ Airplane maintenanceand And airport management.
HOUSE AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT.
TPP’s housing plan involves remodeling Monrovia and other cities into modern communities with zoning systems. The National Housing Authority will regulate housing design, rent-to-own programs, and relocation settlements.
All housing modifications will require approval from the housing authority to ensure uniform development standards. The initiative aims to reduce congestion and improve urban planning.
AGRICULTURE AND ECONOMIC GROWTH
Agriculture will play a central role in the party’s economic strategy. The government plans to invest in industrial farming for crops such as rice, beans, cassava, and potatoes while empowering local farmers with modern equipment and training.
The party believes this strategy will enhance food security, boost exports, and stabilize the national currency.
SMALL BUSINESS EMPOWERMENT
To promote entrepreneurship, the Central Bank will be directed to allocate special business loans ranging from $1,000 to $50,000 for Liberians involved in local or international trade. The loan program includes a flexible repayment period of up to five years with low or no interest for early repayment.
INFRASTRUCTURE AND ELECTRICITY EXPANSION.
TPP plans to achieve nationwide electricity access as part of its development agenda. The government intends to decentralize businesses and create industrial zones across all counties to stimulate local economies and reduce congestion in Monrovia.
TPP PLANS NEW TRADE UNION
As part of it plans (TPP) will work with Three neighboring countries to form the Sub-West African Trade Union (SWATU). The pact aims to boost trade, create jobs, and build international highways linking member nations.
Hon. Joseph K. Bannie’s Peoples’ Party presents a comprehensive blueprint for Liberia’s reconstruction, centered on justice, inclusivity, and empowerment.
