An educated student of the Hip-Hop game that has collaborated with such DJ's as DJ Don Cannon and DJ Khaled, J Rosevelt used the influence of his f
avorite artists to develop his own versatile flow. A compilation of talents that include speedy, rapid-fire flow, intricate wordplay, thought out New York style punchlines with a Carolina twist, the ability to sing vast ranges in different octaves (with or without auto-tune) whether belting out a grungy rock-edged lyrics or smooth melodic R&B style chorus, and a song writing ability that is multi-genre and cross-appealing. Many have coined Rosevelt as the best artist they've heard unsigned to a major label, all-the-while, never letting this keep him from staying humble, he has maintained a superior work-ethic, having recorded close to 3,000 songs as of 2013. Since 2003 Rosevelt has been creating songs and despite having made released 4 mixtapes and an album up to 2008, he didn't begin to really take music seriously until 2010, after the collapse of his involvement with a local independent recording label that had creative differences among its members. Having, freshly broken back out into the underground Hip-Hop scene as a solo artist, J Rosevelt had a new found focus that allowed him to re-gather his strategy and stride for higher goals. It was shortly after in mid 2011 that J Rosevelt recorded the North Carolina state-wide smash anthem, "Pour It Up", which as been featured on countless FM radio stations, featured in music video form on multiple cable TV stations, and accumulated hundreds of thousands of plays on YouTube while amassing major industry attention to further expand his brand. In 2011, the buzz of the single caught the ear of major celebrity industry DJ, Don Cannon, the host of Lil Wayne, Busta Rhymes, Big Sean, Beanie Sigel, OJ Juiceman, Asher Roth, Mike Posner, Twista, Young Jeezy and many more artist's mixtapes, who then developed an interest in J Rosevelt. J Rosevelt recorded "Thank Me Now" a classic project that offered a versatile blend of styles and unique sounds to combine for a daring effort of ranges from Hip-Hop, R&B, Club and Pop ; a must-hear for any true music lover. This cd has sold over 3,000 times and been digitally downloaded for free over 8,500 times. J Rosevelt will be doing a follow-up to this mixtape with DJ Don Cannon in early 2014. Currently, J Rosevelt is about to release "Southern Fried Trunk Muzik", a southern influenced album-like mixtape that blends primarily Hip-Hop, Soul, Rock and Country, which will be hosted by North Carolina stand-out radio personality, Big Mo, the Director of Music of 102.1 Jamz FM, top rated radio station in North Carolina for Hip-Hop and R&B.
