When you are different, the hardest thing to resist is the urge to question why nobody else sees what you see. Why nobody is affirming what God told you. Why the people closest to you don’t understand what you’re building.

The truth of the matter is that Jesus faced the exact same thing, and yet He kept building.

If you are going to build something that lasts, you have to learn how to build without affirmation. The vision was given to you, not to the people around you. Stop waiting for them to see it before you move.

“But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.” 1 Peter 2:9 NIV

The truth of the matter is that the moment God chose you, He separated you. And separation looks like difference. It looks like being misunderstood. It looks like not being able to do what everyone around you is doing.

You don’t get to be shady like everybody else. You don’t get to gossip like everybody else. You don’t get to quit like everybody else. Because you were set apart.

Stop fighting your difference, it’s the evidence of your calling.

Sometimes you’re closer than you think.

The problem is that we often measure progress by what we can see. We look at how far we still have to go and forget to acknowledge how far God has already brought us.

Don’t quit simply because you haven’t arrived yet. You might be standing closer to the breakthrough than you realize.

Keep moving. Keep trusting. You’re closer than you think.

4. A Tale of Three Kings — Gene Edwards
5. The Imperfect Disciple — Jared C. Wilson

Save this for later and start with whichever title speaks to your season.

Just because you haven’t seen it happen yet doesn’t mean God has forgotten about you.

We often mistake delay for denial and silence for absence. But God can be working in places you cannot see, preparing things you aren’t ready to receive, and aligning circumstances you couldn’t orchestrate yourself.

Your timeline is not the measure of God’s faithfulness.

Keep praying. Keep obeying. Keep believing.

God hasn’t forgotten about you. He is still working.
