What's the difference between an audio engineer and a studio owner?
Audio engineers don't have to balance between ceiling rafters 20' from the floor to replace bird blocker!
The company that did the original work used really light stuff that the critters were able to poke right through.
It's been about 20 years since I've had to do crazy high wire stuff like this.
TBH, it was kind of rewarding.

I've got a new intern! She officially starts next week but may be able to help out at the DFA Concert this Saturday. Internships are probably just as rewarding for me as they are to the students!

Just watched a short video about the making of "Stairway to Heaven" and it occurred to me that having recording sessions these last few days have given me inspiration to work on my craft. It's great to be back at it after a summer of distractions.

It gave me a lot of insight into that pivotal time in our history. Very entertaining.

This afternoon we kicked off a recording project for some Cedarcrest students. One of them composed a piece and somehow got a bunch of his classmates to give up some of the last days of their school year to come in and record it. This is seriously cool stuff.

I don't get the opportunity to play my instruments much since switching from performing to recording so it was pretty cool to be able to pull out my alto, tenor, flute, trumpet and trombone for the middle section of a Polydendron song.
It was great to have Ryan McClune there to engineer.
