St. Nicholas Charity on Wheels is a ministry of Catholic Charities - Diocese of Peoria that serves those in need. The van comes to the parking lot of St. Patrick’s Parish Hall (126 W. Mason Ave., Dwight) once a month.

Individuals are given a bag with toiletries and cleaning supplies, such as laundry detergent, deodorant, toothpaste, shampoo, toilet paper, etc. Items may change depending on need and what is donated.

Grundy County will be conducting the monthly test of the “Outdoor Warning Sirens” today.

Illinois Law requires tests to be conducted at 10:00 am on the first Tuesday of each month.

Should the Outdoor Warning Sirens sound at any time other than the monthly test, tune to local radio stations WCSJ 103.1 FM or WJDK 95.7 FM for the latest information and possible emergency instructions.
