Union sends five to the State Wrestling tournament.

Congrats to the following wrestlers who qualified today for the Iowa High School State Wrestling Tournament:

Opening round of wrestling for Class 2A begins at 1:30PM on Thursday, February 20 at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines.

Union completed their sweep of conference duals with a thrilling 37-36 win over ranked Denver and a 54-24 victory over host East Marshall/GMG on Tuesday.

For the first time since 2015, Union wrestling has bested NICL rival Denver 37-36 in their last conference duals of the season on Tuesday, Ja.

Members of Union's Jazz II and Jazz I bands hosted area schools for the IHSMA Jazz Band Festival on Monday. Both ensembles performed, gained valuable insight from clinicians and Jazz I was awarded a Division I rating on the evening.

Mathcounts is a Nationwide math competition for students in sixth, seventh, and eighth grades. It started in 1984 and Union has participated every year. Over the years they have had many teams and individuals qualify for the State Competition, and even a few have made it to the National Competition. The 26 students listed will participate in the Regional Competition Thursday, Feb 6th at Hawkeye Community College in Waterloo. They hope to qualify for State again. An exciting night of basketball unfolded as the girls scored a season high point total in their 64-52 loss to Denver. Only a month ago, the boys lost at Denver 100-35, yet their game plan kept them alive in a 44-36 loss to the Cyclones. Photos of the Union Middle and High School Dance Team performances are also included in this album.
