That's just your past talking.”
“That's just the enemy.”
“No, this is normal.”

When someone spiritualizes your discomfort, they’re not protecting your heart—
they’re protecting their power.

Your discernment matters. Your boundaries matter. Your voice matters.

If you’re wrestling with the aftermath of leaving a toxic church or spiritual environment, hear this clearly:

✨ You weren’t wrong.
✨ You weren’t imagining it.
✨ And you’re not “rebellious” for listening to the Holy Spirit.

When something feels off, it’s because something is off.
You are allowed to leave.
You are allowed to tell someone.
You are allowed to seek help, healing, and truth.

You can rebuild trust in yourself—and in God—without the voices that tried to control you.

You’re not alone. 🤍

Sometimes the hardest part of faith is choosing God over the people who failed to represent Him. 💔✝️

11/11/2025

Sadly, some of us were taught that speaking up “hurts the church.”
But the Body of Christ is not protected by secrets.
It is protected by truth.

When we stay silent to “honor God,” we often end up protecting the abuser—not the victim. And God has always been on the side of the vulnerable.

If you’ve ever felt the weight of knowing something was wrong and not knowing how to speak… you are not alone. Healing starts with truth. And courage is contagious.

God doesn’t need your silence.
But the wounded need your voice. 🤍

Not all harm is loud.
Sometimes it comes disguised as counseling, confession, or spiritual guidance.

If someone used your story, your past, or your desire to heal as a way to gain control — that wasn’t God.
That wasn’t love.
And it wasn’t biblical counsel.

You deserved safety.
You deserved honor.
You deserved to be led toward Jesus — not toward shame.

You’re not alone. 🤍
There is healing. There is restoration. There is freedom.

Not all “Christian” spaces are safe.
Some use Scripture to control, silence, and shame.

In this week’s episode of The Red Ledger Podcast, Michelle Caswell shares how she stepped into what she believed was a ministry for healing and discipleship… only to discover she was being spiritually manipulated, isolated, and controlled.

This is her story of:
• Ignoring the red flags
• Scripture being twisted to demand obedience
• Losing her voice, identity, and confidence
• And the moment God opened her eyes and led her out

But listen — this is not a story about losing faith.
This is a story about finding the real Jesus, the One who rescues, heals, restores, and redeems.

If you’ve ever experienced church hurt, spiritual pressure, or confusion about “godly leadership,” this conversation will help you put words to what you felt… and remind you that God was never the one who hurt you.

Sometimes the hardest part of following Jesus isn’t believing in Him… it’s letting go of the life we built without Him.
For years, I held onto the things that made me feel in control — the partying, the tarot cards, the comfort habits, the identity I thought was “me.”
But God didn’t shame me.
He didn’t rip it all away.
He gently led me out — one step at a time.
And the life I have now… is so much better than the one I was scared to lose.

If you’re in that in-between space — wanting God, but afraid of surrender — this is for you.
He is patient. He is kind. He knows where you are. And He is not finished with you. 🤍

10/29/2025

You can’t hold onto your old life and step into the one Jesus is calling you to.

For a long time, I tried to be “half in.”
Half surrendered.
Half obedient.
Half transformed.

But there’s no peace in the halfway.
There’s no freedom in clinging to what God is calling you out of.

Lot’s wife thought she was losing something — but what she couldn’t see was that God was leading her to life.

If God is asking you to let go…
It’s because what He has for you next is better.

We all get wounded — but when we keep revisiting the hurt, we stop the healing.
God calls us to forgive, to release bitterness, and to let Him make us whole again. 🕊️

💭 “Love keeps no record of wrongs.”

10/23/2025

Forgiveness is a choice—but it doesn’t mean allowing people to keep hurting you.
You can love them, release the offense, and still draw healthy boundaries.

Jesus calls us to forgive, repent, and live set apart… but He also gives us wisdom to guard our hearts and not return to cycles of pain. ❤️
