TAF has been asked to take on an extreme medical case.

The dog's owner experienced a medical emergency in her home and was trapped behind a door for 11 days. The woman was discovered by the Chicago Fire Department after a welfare check. With no access to her heart and diabetes medication, the woman is now in critical condition in the ICU.

Unfortunately, the woman's dog was in a cage in the kitchen. Nobody knows how the dog survived that long but he is hanging on. The dog is in critical condition and at the ICU at MedVet Chicago. To try and save his life, we just put down a $3,500 deposit so that he could undergo a medical shave and undergo further testing. It is feared that he has pancreatitis and or something wrong with his kidneys.

It is not our business to post about his owner and the condition of where he was found. God willing that she survives, that can be sorted out by the professionals. TAF's job is to try and save the dog's life and do right by him.

The dog's name is Koogie and is estimated to be around 2 years old. If you would like to help sponsor his care, we would really appreciate it. He is scheduled for an ultrasound and is on supportive care. Both Koogie and his owner could really use your prayers.

If Koogie pulls through, he will come and stay with TAF's therapy dogs. It sure seems like he could use some friends about now.

If you would like to help Koogie, here are a few ways to donate:

👮‍♂️🦝 When Officer Rich isn’t busy taking every patrol car for a spin, he’s apparently moonlighting as a wildlife rescuer!

During a call in east Vancouver, officers came across an unusual sight — a baby raccoon being kept illegally as a pet. With Fish & Wildlife stepping in, a plan was quickly made to give this little one a safe return back to the wild, right where he belongs. 🌲✨
Every shift brings something new: sometimes it’s helping neighbors, sometimes it’s chasing suspects… and sometimes, it’s protecting the tiniest residents of our community. 💚

One thing’s for sure — the badge isn’t just about enforcing the law, it’s about looking out for everyone who calls this place home.❣️

Robert Redford’s personal life was never as flashy as his Hollywood stardom. Instead, it carried the same quiet dignity he often brought to his roles. His two marriages—first to Lola Van Wagenen and later to Sibylle Szaggars—tell a story not of broken chapters, but of connections that shaped him deeply, with respect and affection that lasted well beyond the marriages themselves.

Robert met Lola Van Wagenen, a historian and activist, long before the world knew his name. They married in 1958, when he was still struggling to find his footing as an actor. She stood beside him during the lean years, and together they raised four children. Robert once reflected that Lola was “the balance when the world tilted too much toward Hollywood,” showing how deeply he valued her grounding influence. Their marriage lasted nearly three decades, ending in divorce in 1985, but what endured was the mutual respect. Even years later, Robert never spoke of Lola without kindness, admiring her intelligence and activism.

Then came Sibylle Szaggars, a German-born painter he had known since the ’90s. They shared a love of art, nature, and environmental causes, which drew them closer over time. In 2009, Robert married Sibylle in a quiet ceremony in Hamburg, Germany. He described their life together as one built on “peace, art, and a shared vision of the world.” One sweet moment often noted was how Sibylle’s artwork and Robert’s environmental projects intertwined, creating a bond that was as creative as it was romantic.

The connection between his two marriages lies in the respect he carried forward. He treasured his history with Lola and honored the family they built, while embracing a new chapter of creativity and companionship with Sibylle. To Robert, love wasn’t about replacing—it was about continuing. As he once put it, “Life is about the people you walk beside. Each one teaches you something about who you are.”

She was just a little girl, standing on the shore, crying out,
“I can’t swim — please, someone save my dog!”
Her dog, Bella, had chased a ball too far into the waves. The water turned rough, dragging Bella under, and the girl froze in fear. Her older sister stood beside her, but she couldn’t swim either. People around just watched.

Then, out of nowhere, a man named David — someone homeless, someone she had seen near the boardwalk before — dropped his worn backpack in the sand and ran straight into the sea. 🥹
Without hesitation, he fought the waves until he reached Bella. Gently, he lifted her head above the water and save her đź’•

Bella clung to him until they made it back to the shore. She shook herself off, safe again. The little girl’s eyes filled with tears. When she tried to thank him, David just smiled and walked away.

To her, David will never just be a stranger. He’ll always be Bella’s guardian angel.

Four years ago, we met a dog who desperately needed a home. His owner, a postal worker, loved him but could no longer care for him — long hours meant he spent up to eleven hours a day in a crate. If we hadn’t taken him, he was going to a shelter.

We expected hesitation, maybe sadness. Instead, he ran to us with joy, hopped into our car without fear, and curled up on the couch that very night as if to say: I’m finally home.

There were no cries for his old life, no restless nights — only trust, only love. Over the years, he’s become more than a pet. He’s family. He reminds us daily that adoption isn’t just about saving a life — sometimes it’s about completing your own.

Carrie and Craig thought they’d never be parents. Then came a miracle—twins born on February 28th, adopted with love.

One year later, the same birth mother asked them to adopt another set of twins… born the same day.

And just when they thought their hearts were full, Carrie gave birth to twins of her own—also on February 28th.

Three sets of twins. All sharing the same birthday. All raised under one roof of love.

Coincidence? Or something greater? ❤️

After months of waiting behind cold shelter bars, Honey and Raf—two bonded rescue dogs—finally got their miracle. Honey, a sweet golden retriever mix, and Raf, a shy but curious beagle, had grown inseparable during their time at the local shelter. They’d watched other dogs leave, always hopeful, yet always left behind. Until one bright morning, everything changed.

A kind-hearted couple walked in, looking not for one, but two furry companions. When they met Honey and Raf, it was love at first sight. Paperwork signed, tails wagging, they were finally going home.

Their first day was magical. Honey claimed a sunny spot by the window, while Raf cautiously explored the backyard, tail twitching with new curiosity. They were given soft beds, squeaky toys, and warm bowls of food—simple things they’d never truly had before.

That night, they curled up together in their new home, safe and loved. No more cages, no more lonely nights. Just a new beginning filled with belly rubs, adventures, and endless affection.

Honey and Raf had waited so long. Now, they’ll never be alone again.

At dawn, the savannah stood still as a mother elephant gave birth—not to one calf, but two. Elephant twins are so rare that many rangers never see them in their lifetime. The fragile newborns clung close as their mother touched them with her trunk, gently claiming them as her own.

Soon, the herd encircled them. One by one, towering elephants formed a living wall of protection. From above, it looked like a sacred ceremony, as if the herd knew they were witnessing something extraordinary.

Though exhausted, the mother urged her calves to stand. Wobbly legs lifted, tiny trunks stretched outward, and their first steps were welcomed by trumpets echoing across the plains. It wasn’t just a birth—it was a celebration.

For days, the herd cared for the twins together. Protective allomothers stood watch, shared the effort, and reminded the world that elephants survive not only through strength, but through unity and love.

Two rare lives. One herd’s embrace. Proof that nature still writes the most awe-inspiring stories.
