The Pickens Sentinel was first published July 23, 1871.

The Easley Progress was first published July 23, 1902. Both papers have been serving their respective communities ever since. On Dec. 7, 2016, the papers merged to become The Sentinel-Progress which is proud to continue serving the Upstate as Pickens County's oldest continuously operated business.

We’d like to wish the SCD1 host team good luck in the Senior League Baseball World Series! Congrats to Honda for doing such a good job, too, of hosting tonight’s event. The parade through town was outstanding, along with the introduction of the team.

Bridge Closure in Pickens County

SCDOT has closed the bridge on Crowe Creek Road following damage to the bridge. SCDOT was alerted by law enforcement to severe damage to a bridge on Crowe Creek Road and crews are working to install a closure and detour.

SCDOT will begin an immediate assessment to determine the extent of the damage and a plan to replace the bridge. At this time, details are limited. SCDOT will share more information as it becomes available.

‼️MISSING PERSON‼️The Pickens County Sheriff’s Office is asking for your help locating 83 year old Amos Hostetler. Mr. Hostetler was last seen wearing a light blue button up shirt, blue jeans, and gray shoes. He was last seen in the area of Silver Lake Drive in Easley. Mr. Hostetler was on foot and walks with a cane. If you have any information please contact us at (864) 898-5500.
