The Pickens Sentinel was first published July 23, 1871.

The Easley Progress was first published July 23, 1902. Both papers have been serving their respective communities ever since. On Dec. 7, 2016, the papers merged to become The Sentinel-Progress which is proud to continue serving the Upstate as Pickens County's oldest continuously operated business.

The memory of an article can last for several years … Drew Peeples - at just 22 years old and still in college - had a “block party” recently to celebrate the grand opening of her new business called AIM Movement Co. Several family members, friends and local residents showed up in support.
Drew went on to have the front-page article framed and she hung it up in the entrance of her new business. The signatures are awesome, too. Congrats, Drew!

Giving back: Robinson Funeral Home raised $3,241 for Upstate Warrior Solution today in Powdersville at a top-notch car show. Mike and Robbie Holland (from Belton) won the Best of Show and Peoples Choice Awards today with their 1961 “Bubble Top” Chevy Impala.
