🚨 With everything we have been through this last year.. I’m so overwhelmed and PROUD to announce… a new studio is LOADING!

AND WE CAN FINALLY TALK ABOUT IT!

It was heartbreaking to retire the Darkroom well before it reached maturity, but cancer had other plans… and NOW we’re teaming up with our good friend Desiree to open a fresh space! Bigger and better than the last (no offense Darkroom, you were ABSOLUTELY perfect! But an upgrade was in order). This is such beautiful reminder that within the struggle, heartache, and hustle of the dark times.. the universe is preparing something extra beautiful for you.

With an emphasis still on community, The Bloc is being built. It’s currently under construction, and getting all the love and attention it deserves! BUT HEAD ON OVER AND WATCH THE PROCESS!

Hey friends!
Upon closing the studio doors, we decided to transition the business. Community is what has always been my number one focus, and at first I thought that closing the studio while I focus on my health, meant losing my community. But I quickly realized the heart of our beautiful creative community is not limited by location. So as a way to honor our community and encourage growth, connection, and creativity, I’ve started a collection of meetups geared to inviting new and seasoned photographers to meet, create, and connect in a creative and SAFE environment.
My values will always remain consistent with what the Darkroom held true to our hearts. We approach our meetups with kindness, compassion, inclusivity, and safe boundaries.
If this sounds like your vibe, I’d love to have you over in our new corner of the internet, Grain and Grit Creative Co.

My love for planning parties, meeting new people, and sharing this crazy little photo experience has manifested in ways I could never have dreamed!

This is the hardest post I’ve ever had to write. But many of you know, in June of this year, I received a diagnosis that would shatter our world. I was diagnosed with stage 3 triple positive breast cancer. There’s really no way for to describe the toll a diagnosis like this takes on a family.
But because of the demands of treatment, along with my mother having a major stroke and moving in for full time care, I have had to make the hard decision to close my books and the studio. The Darkroom has brought the most incredible connections into my life and I am forever grateful for the growth and love that has happened over the last year. But right now my time is most importantly spent with my family and pouring all my energy into fighting this big fight. Life just simply has other plans for me!

I can’t thank you all enough for making this the best year of my life. And I hope to reopen another location next year when the universe has handed me a little breathing room.

I love you all with my entire heart and soul! 🤍 Have no fear, another photography has taken over the space and will continue offering rentals.

But I truly THANK YOU and I promise, I will see you later 😘
