🔥TurnPark Summer Festival 2026: Myth
🌿June 13th, 3-10pm

The Annual TurnPark Summer Festival is a summer day filled with site specific performance art, immersive installations, wearable sculptures, music, dance, and meditative rituals!

This is an incredible opportunity for adults and children alike to come together in the beautiful and inspiring setting of a former marble quarry transformed into an outdoor museum.
Visitors are invited to explore art, gather by a bonfire, enjoy delicious food, and participate in workshops.

This year’s theme, “Myth”, gives an opportunity to research old myths - both living and forgotten - as well as creating new modern-day ones.

🔥The highlights of TurnPark Summer Festival 2026: Myth

🎪The Kif-Kif Sisters, identical twin sisters from Montreal, Canada, will present Jam Side Up! which explores themes of adulthood and imagination, weaving together physical theater, circus arts, music, robotics, puppetry, and performance.

🎺Zephyr Horns. Drawing on the unique space and environment, the music will pull from the natural acoustics and sounds of the park.

💧The River by OR WORKS
A site-specific contemporary dance performance at TurnPark quarry lake.

🍋Legend of Lemons
An interactive storytelling piece inspired by “A Lemon” poem by Pablo Neruda. Created and performed by two yellow characters who transform a simple lemon fruit into a cosmic and sacred object (SolLab)

💧Icedial is a multi-sensory art installation that transforms the silent process of ecological decay into a rhythmic, amplified heartbeat.

🔥Chingiz Dub
Chingiz Dub is a unique musical and visual experience that mixes traditional Tuvan throat singing with experimental electronic music.

👹The God of Many Tongues
The show celebrates America as a cultural “melting pot” and is a direct response to contemporary anti-immigration sentiment.

The 20th annual Berkshire International Film Festival (BIFF) will pay tribute on Saturday, May 30, to one of its own this year, and we couldn’t be more thrilled! The BIFF 2026 honoree will be Karen Allen. Along with a special presentation, she will be in conversation with her close friend, acclaimed production designer Kristi Zea. And Starman, a personal favorite of Allen’s (which co-stars Jeff Bridges), will be screened. Read “Celebrating Karen Allen” in the May/June issue of Berkshire Magazine. A year and a half ago, we had the honor of talking with Sonny Rollins in an interview published in our Holiday 2024 issue. In the interview, the venerated saxophonist shared his thoughts on life, music, and the power of humility. He talked to us about playing in the Berkshires, his storied career, his constant pursuit of artistic growth—and recalls a segment on the first season of The Simpsons. (He’s referring to the character Bleeding Gums Murphy, who plays the saxophone on a bridge in the middle of the night, a reference to Rollins practicing on Manhattan’s Williamsburg Bridge during an extended sabbatical from the public eye.)

The jazz great died today at the age of 95.

We asked Sonny in the interview if there was anything else he’d like our readers to know about you.

His answer was this: “Well, I’m a self-effacing kind of guy, and I try to be a humble person. I think of that as very important in my life. I want to be humble. I want to be good to my fellow human beings and all of that. The spiritual aspect of life is very important to me, and that’s what I want to be remembered for, as well as my music. ‘Hey, Sonny was really a nice guy.’ That’s all that I can hope for.”

In 2020, we honored Colleen Quinn as one of Berkshire Magazine’s Berkshire 25, a beloved art teacher for many years at Pittsfield High School who also had taught at Berkshire Community College and SUNY Albany. Colleen received many awards over her years in school and in teaching. On Wednesday, we lost this shining light who touched so many lives to a brief battle to cancer. She gave so much to our community, and we will miss her deeply. Her legacy lives on with every person she touched.

An early morning shoot in October was when we last visited this serene retreat in the Southern Berkshires, ideal for every season. Alongside architect Brian Bordonaro of Studio 36 and an excellent team of trade partners, we worked on a partial renovation and new build of this arts and crafts-style home. The retro-inspired kitchen design is one of the main features of the house with three floors of living and plenty of space for guests. Evoking the charm of the original and eclectic bungalow, this property offers panoramic lake views and mountain vistas, and the terraced lawn features beautiful stone work leading to a large modern deck off the main living area for summer gatherings and beautiful Berkshire sunsets.
