Downtown Lumberyard Redevelopment Update

After issuing a Request for Proposals in March 2025, and having received one submittal, the Village Board will be taking the next step in what is expected to be a 2-to-3-year redevelopment process at the upcoming Village Board meeting on August 4.

RFP submissions were due to the Village on July 7, 2025, and the Village received one proposal—from local development firm Sightwell, Inc.

The Village Board will review this submittal, and if consensus is reached, staff will spend the next few months negotiating a redevelopment agreement with Sightwell to bring back for Board approval at a later date.

There will be an opportunity for community input over the next few months as the project is refined during the Village’s review process.

👷𝐑𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐑𝐨𝐚𝐝 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐔𝐩𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞🚧

The week of 7/28/2025, multiple operations will continue along Randall Road and Miller Road, including ongoing utility relocation work. Pile driving operations on Miller Road for the bridge will be getting underway. Forming and pouring of the new retaining wall along the north side of Miller Road will continue, with the first pour of permanent concrete scheduled later in the week. Storm sewer installations and roadway excavation will also be in progress. Work will continue on the creation of the new realigned tributary along the west side of Randall, in conjunction with the work on Miller Rd.

The detour for the closure of the west leg of Miller Road at Randall Road is still in place. Traffic conditions in the area are being monitored, and adjustments will be considered as needed. We encourage drivers to follow the posted detour routes and pay close attention to speed limits throughout the detour route and around the construction zone.
