"No More Sun" is a local Dutchess County Alternative Metal band who plays the greater Hudson Valley NY & Westchester County Region. Their new single "I Think So I Can" is available on all platforms.

The Story Behind the song:
The song is about how the human Spirit can overcome any challenges. When things get difficult, and we feel as though we are at the end of our rope, we always find a way to persevere. The song name is a play on words from the Descartes quote "I think therefore I am".
While "No More Sun" does mostly heavy metal and alternative metal rock, this song has prominent punk rock elements. This band is someone to watch. As a live act, they play all the classic rock songs everyone loves and they are full of energy and talent so if you live locally, go check them out.

Story Behind The Song: Think Big
This inspirational song was written as a motivator. Written during the Covid lock down, I was playing around with this acoustic guitar riff, searching for a sound that felt happy and lifted me up. Anytime life gets me down, especially around winter time with the weather changes, and yes, lockdown here In NY began in the winter. But when I’m feeling down, I take what I’m feeling and turn it into something motivational and inspiring. Because no one wants to feel down. The song inspires you to Be your best you, whatever that means to you and take a step everyday towards building your dreams. And don’t just dream big. Think big. Think about what you want, and then set your plans in motion to achieve it. Don’t let fear stand in your way because truth is life is short and we simply don’t have time for that. Fear is a lie anyway. It’s never based on truth. Life is full of opportunities every single day and tapping into those opportunities big or small lead to something.
When Beth brought this song idea to Jess, it was during Covid, and they were sending files back and forth by computer. Jess took the song and lit it on fire with hot guitars tracks and drums that just made the song come to life. I find it amazing that this song came together without us ever getting together in the studio. Think Big is a female empowerment song written to inspire. It’s will pick you up and motivate you. The story behind the song: Evil ways
Inspiration can sometimes come from a place of craziness and this inspirational song about changing course, was no different. As a young artist Jessica was on the road a lot and the road can be a crazy lonely place. It’s so easy to get caught up in all the after party’s, celebrations and wild times that goes with it after a show, but after a while it’s exhausting and all you want to do is to focus on what means the most to you, the music.
There comes a time when turning your life around becomes the dream, and you pick up the pieces of your life and find new direction and hope. You start to realize who you really are and you see even bigger possibilities for the new you. Darkness makes us find the way to the light and as we fall into ourselves, with a desire to change we find ourselves and we are stronger better more confident people.
When Jess and Beth took this song to the studio, it was like magic melted all over it. The arrangement and melody flew into place. Truthfully we were just hanging out for the night having a no stress night and having a few beers, we started listening to the song and before we knew it the vocals and arrangement were done and everything we did that night was a keeper for this awesome rock song. Special thanks to Brian Dunne from Hall & Oats who played drums on the track. What an amazing and talented drummer. Brian Dunne has played, recorded and done shows with names such as Rob Thomas, Daughtry, CeeLo Green, Joe Walsh, Kenny Loggins, Cheap Trick, the O’Jays, and José Feliciano and many more. Story Behind the song: Wasteland
The inspiration for this song came from the darkness I see all around me. It just seems to me that while infrastructure, homes, roads, bridges and just about everything else is deteriorating, along with quality of life, the cost to live just keeps going up. So basically If life were a bucket, it would have a hole it…. Nothing that goes in stays in so how do we help others less fortunate. How do we fix what’s broken. The future of society looks bleak. Slavery isn’t gone it’s just redefined. And to add to it, where is genuine kindness for the human race. Everything can’t be about government. They play their part but we have to play ours and help each other, love and respect one another and stand up for each other. It just seems like nobody helps anyone anymore, and everything around us either rotting, or deteriorating and greed is out of control. So what do we stand for…. What are we doing to stop the world from becoming a wasteland. As People I feel we just need to open our hearts. It’s not always about the pocketbook. It’s about opening our eyes and offering to help, in whatever capacity that means to you. While the song doesn’t mention an answer to any of these problems, it’s designed to make us think about it. It’s designed as a warning… this song would never have come together without the amazing and talented harmonica player Marty Stole nickname Howlin Mad…. Who’s soulful harmonica haunts the entire song. Also to Marty’s credit are the rain stick and congas and other percussion elements introduced throughout the song.
Add to this Jessica Klees awesome acoustic leads and accompaniment and the sound effects, the haunted sad harmony and vocals sung by Beth Rowan along with her acoustic playing, I think we had a total of 5 acoustic tracks… so much fun putting this together.

The story behind the song: Real Tides
This song was born as a result of a relationship. So what exactly is Real Tides. The definition of Real Tides, for me means the outpouring of our passion, love and trust into a relationship. When we do this our emotions runs deep and we give 100% of ourselves to the relationship. But like the ocean tides, there is an ebb and flow. Real tides simply can’t be given to someone if the person on the receiving end isn’t ready or able to receive it. And truth is like everything in life, we pour our Real Tides into something we believe in. This is true whether its a relationship, jour dreams, or our work, its human nature to give everything to what we do. If there is any doubt in our minds, we hold back. And that’s what happened in this relationship. I had doubts and as badly as I wanted to jump all in, I simply couldn’t give my everything because he wasn’t giving me his everything. But in this case, he expected me too and so, the song was born. This is a woman empowerment song simply because as a woman, I walked away from the relationship knowing I was strong enough to go thru the heartbreak of leaving someone I really loved simply because it was better for me to do so. Never be afraid to do this because we as people deserve the best, and if we aren’t getting this, it’s time to walk. So I chose to love from afar. In the song, there is most certainly an antagonistic display or emotions towards the man who was unable to commit. But there was also love and honesty displayed. Basically, Give me your all and Ill give you mine but if not, Im done, and yes, walking away was hard, but I stuck to my guns.
When Jess heard the demo, which consisted of synths, loops and pads, and some s*x appeal she went to town and gave this song so much energy with special effects and drums and electric guitars and OMG, she just injected with music, the feeling of Real Tides. She gave it even more passion and s*x appeal. Truly, as a team, we bring to life the ideas and songs that just motivate and we are so excited to release this.

The countdown begins. We are excited to announce Lady Stamina's Album release "Real Tides". Jessica Klee and Beth Rowan, have worked hard to write and produce this 7 song album. It will be available on all on line platforms effective June 1st, 2024. The album presents a mix of tunes from rock, to rap, to cinematic and folk. Every song speaks to the heart, with real life issues and there are many people empowerment songs that inspire us to be the best people we can be. Stay tuned for the story behind the song.
