Introducing the new “HELL DIVER” 17 Year🔥
Big thanks to and for sending this over to review!
Releasing tomorrow, June 24 via EQL lottery, this release started as a blend of 17, 20, and 24 Year corn and 22 Year rye. It was then aged in Pedro Ximenez, new wood and cognac casks for 7 months and reblended for the final product.
Nose: vanilla, corn, cinnamon, brown sugar, maple, funky oak, toffee
Palate: French/port oak influence, toasted caramel popcorn, green apple, nutmeg, mocha
Finish: dry and tannic, baking spice, bitter oak, short to medium finish
The nose is great on this, bursting with some good barrel funk and dusty corn, vanilla and cinnamon. The palate transfers some of that vanilla and corn with some caramel drizzle, very complex flavors, although it lacked a little depth. You do get that nice port influence which rounds it out. On the finish, it felt a bit tannic and finish I wish lasted a little longer. But the nice baking spice at the end and viscosity was great.
Found North always produces whiskey with complex flavors, which I love about them. So if you’re a fan of oak tannins and port finished whiskey, this one is for you! Don’t forget to sign up using the link in my bio to enter for a chance to purchase your Hell Diver 2025!
