A look at September’s workload. The social media posts are brief. The paperwork that follows is considerably less so.

Compared with August, we recorded 97 more traffic stops and fewer calls, reports, accidents, and arrests.

RIDOT is scheduled to begin milling and paving Main Avenue between Greenwich Avenue and West Shore Road on Sunday night, October 4. Work is expected to take approximately one month.
Following paving, the road diet between Warwick Industrial Drive and West Shore Road will become permanent. The existing road diet between Greenwich Avenue and Jefferson Boulevard will also be restored.
Use caution and allow extra travel time.

Warwick’s biggest Halloween party is pulling into the Crowne Plaza parking lot!

Join us Friday, October 30, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM for the Warwick Police Trunk or Treat. The first hour, from 4:00 to 5:00 PM, will be sensory-friendly.

We’ll have police and fire vehicles loaded with candy, food trucks, a bounce house, hayrides, the Dunk a Cop dunk tank, Cat Country 98.1 with prizes, giveaways and a DJ and plenty of Halloween fun for the entire family.

We’re also awarding prizes for the best-decorated police car, fire truck and civilian vehicle.

To our neighboring police and fire departments: consider this your official challenge. Bring your best decorations and show us what you’ve got. One plastic spider on the dashboard is not going to win this thing.
