SPRINGS, N.Y. — At the Springs Food Pantry last Wednesday volunteers distributed food and holiday supplies to 333 families, serving a total of 1,250 community members during their final distribution of the year before Christmas.

An update from the ongoing truck beach saga: this week fourteen East Hampton Town residents who were issued summonses for trespassing during a protest last October had their case summarily dismissed in Southampton Town Justice Court in Hampton Bays on Tuesday, in what their attorney called a victory for all residents of the town.

The pandemic had a huge effect on housing prices across the country, especially on the East End where the proximity to New York City, and geographical limitations have led to potential seismic changes to the fabric of the year round community.

For this post, spent an evening with and as they fundraise to raise awareness and engagement around the issue ahead of the Nov. 8’s referendum around the issue.
