๐ŸŽ“โœจ Thirty years may have passed, but the memories remain as vivid as ever.

Members of the Sexton High School Class of 1996 recently gathered in Lansing to celebrate their 30th Class Reunionโ€”an evening filled with laughter, friendship, reflection, and unforgettable memories. From flipping through yearbooks and sharing stories to honoring classmates who are no longer with us, the reunion was a powerful reminder that some connections truly stand the test of time.

๐ŸŒŸ Mentorship Matters. ๐ŸŒŸ

What happens when young men are surrounded by positive role models, leadership training, and a community that believes in their potential?

This weekend, parents and youth gathered with the IMOGUL Mentoring Group to learn how mentorship can help shape character, build confidence, and prepare young men for success in life. Founded by James E. Jackson Sr., IMOGUL is committed to developing the next generation of leaders through service, accountability, education, and unconditional love.

The Chronicleโ€™s own Liam Carter was among the young people who attended and experienced firsthand the power of mentorship and community.

Some stories are told with words. Others are told with light and shadow.

This powerful image, captured by Alfred Laurence of Beige Planet Photography, reflects the spirit of The Chronicle News 40th Anniversary Celebration Showcase and Galaโ€”an evening dedicated to life, love, legacy, and community.

More than a photograph, this moment captures the heart of what the evening represented: honoring those who came before us, celebrating those making a difference today, and inspiring the next generation to carry the torch forward.

We are grateful to Alfred for helping document this milestone event and preserve these memories through his artistry.

Stay tuned as we continue sharing photos and video highlights from this unforgettable celebration.

โœจ Flashback Friday: Celebrating 30 Years of The Chronicle News โœจ

As we celebrate 40 years of community journalism, we canโ€™t help but look back on one of the most memorable milestones in our journeyโ€”The Chronicle News 30th Anniversary Celebration and Hometown Hero Awards.

Ten years ago, community leaders, pioneers, family, and friends gathered to honor individuals whose service, leadership, and dedication helped shape our community.

The evening was expertly hosted by the incomparable Michael McFadden, with a special guest appearance by Jay Vincent, making the celebration even more memorable.

These photos capture more than an eventโ€”they capture a legacy. They remind us of the visionaries who paved the way, the voices that informed and inspired our community, and the relationships that continue to strengthen The Chronicle News today.

As we recently celebrated our 40th Anniversary Legacy Gala, these moments serve as a powerful reminder that every chapter builds upon the last. We stand on the shoulders of those who came before us, and we remain committed to preserving stories, honoring excellence, and uplifting our community for generations to come.

โค๏ธ Thank you to everyone who has been part of The Chronicleโ€™s journey from 1986 to today.

๐Ÿ“ธ Do you remember attending the 30th Anniversary Celebration? Weโ€™d love to hear your memories in the comments!

When Art Meets Legacy

During The Chronicle Newsโ€™ 40th Anniversary Legacy Gala, guests experienced more than a celebrationโ€”they witnessed creativity in action.

Artist Sera Reneeโ€™ spent the evening creating a live artwork inspired by the stories, history, and community impact shared throughout the program. Following the event, she presented the completed piece along with a heartfelt letter describing how learning about Emmett Tillโ€™s story and the importance of preserving Black history influenced her work.

The painting symbolizes remembrance, growth, hope, and the ripple effect created when stories are shared across generations.

We are honored to receive this beautiful gift and grateful for artists like Sera Reneeโ€™ who continue using their talents to inspire, educate, and uplift our community.

โค๏ธ Thank you, Sera. Your light shines brightly.
