Officials in Hawaii are telling people to get to at least the 4th floor in a building with a minimum height of 10 stories if unable to get to higher ground. 8.8 earthquake in Russia - 6th strongest ever recorded on the planet is causing this.

Thursday severe weather chances might be updated. The storms firing off on the heat and humidity will absolutely have a wind threat with them. Maybe up to 70 mph. That's just from the wild instability from the hot air at the surface and cooler air aloft. An upgrade in the severe weather outlook is probably going to happen. Areas to watch the most are along and south of I-69 and I-96. Timing will be after 6pm. I'll post many more updates!

The SPC has upgraded our risk today to a level 2/5 slight risk in yellow areas. This is for a damaging wind threat this afternoon. Main timeframe remains mid afternoon through the evening.

5/15/2025 2:15PM: A line of severe storms is expected to move across Lower Michigan this evening into early Friday. The biggest threat will be large hail damaging winds. Tornadoes will be possible with these storms. Please have multiple ways to receive warnings and alerts especially these will occur after dark. Storms should be in the Kalamazoo to Grand Rapids area approximately 9 PM to 10 PM.
