Happy anniversary to WKAR Radio!
On this day in 1922, WKAR became one of the first AM stations to broadcast in the United States. Students were the first to experiment with the new technology of that time and early programming revolved around agricultural news and information from Michigan State University.
WKAR has adapted and evolved over the course of more than 100 years, but our commitment to our mission has never wavered. We’re proud to continue serving our community with the mission of public media.
