Precious Mamas - I'm hearing from so many of you - how your kids are DONE with remote learning, especially the kids that struggle with ADHD and anxiety. ⠀

If you're struggling right now I want to offer you some perspective from my oldest daughter who struggled with ADHD and anxiety, My hope is that her words will help bring comfort and a deeper understanding of why they act the way they do and what it's like for them (because at this age they usually don't tell us). ⠀

Her words: "While I don’t believe that my experience is reflective of all experiences, hopefully what I share will help you better understand what your child might be feeling and experiencing and give you some hope... ⠀

"When I lashed out at my parents, I was really frustrated with myself.⠀
I got frustrated that my parents were frustrated. I felt angry and defensive about my missing assignments. I felt misunderstood and at the same time I didn’t understand myself. My parents appeared to act like it should be easy for me to stay organized or to do my homework. They didn’t understand how hard it was for me and because they were incapable of understanding how I was actually feeling, I was angry and resented them." ⠀

Mamas, I wish she could have told me this at the time but she didn't know how to articulate it. If you have a kid who is angry and yelling and not doing their work. Understand they are frustrated deep down more than you are. ⠀
