eastlosangeles90063 Three deputies were injured and two suspects were arrested after celebrations following Mexico’s FIFA World Cup victory turned violent late Tuesday night in East Los Angeles.

According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, several hundred people gathered along Whittier Boulevard near Arizona Avenue after the match. Authorities said the crowd became increasingly hostile, with deputies being struck by glass bottles, rocks, and explosive devices.

Three deputies suffered injuries, including one who was struck near the eye. All were treated and later released.

Investigators arrested 18-year-old Adam Bahena of East Los Angeles and a juvenile on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon on a peace officer after they were allegedly seen throwing glass bottles at deputies.

The Sheriff’s Department said additional resources were deployed to restore order and announced deputies will continue to have an increased presence during Mexico’s next World Cup match.

Oil from a broken underground pipe was sent oozing along a major East Los Angeles street and into storm drains Friday morning, prompting a street closure and a major cleanup operation.

The leak has been controlled and is no longer releasing crude oil in the streets, L.A. County health officials said in a press release sent just after 1 p.m.

The Los Angeles Fire Department received calls around 3:40 a.m. that a construction crew working near East Cesar Chavez and Eastern avenues had nicked the pipe while laying a fiber-optic line, KTLA’s Annie Rose Ramos reported from the scene.

“Our crews arrived on scene to find a significant leak of crude oil from under the street,” Fire Department spokesperson Aaron Katon said. “The crews estimated about five gallons a second.”

Aerial video from Sky5 over the scene at 7:25 a.m. showed crews working at the intersection, which was blocked in every direction. Oil from the damaged pipe could be seen on the roadway and sidewalk, but it did not stop there.

“Product entered storm drains and released into the Los Angeles River,” the California Department of Fish and Wildlife Spill Prevention and Response posted on X. “Multiple agencies are coordinating the response, and cleanup and recovery efforts are underway.”

A minor and two adults are dead following a suspicious house fire in Los Angeles early Thursday morning in Montebello.

Authorities say the fire may be related to domestic violence. A video appears show the suspect making a threat towards a woman after he apparently found her cheating.

At the scene, officers found a residence engulfed in flames and encountered two adults, a man and woman, suffering from critical burn injuries. Both were taken to a local hospital, where they were both eventually pronounced dead. Once fire was extinguished officers located a third victim believed to be a child.

“We just saw a man and a lady just burning. Honestly, all her skin was off. Her hair burnt off completely and she was just screaming for her son,” said neighbor Alisson Gomez.

A teenager was sh-t early Saturday morning in East Los Angeles and later di-d.

Deputies responded to an as-ault with a deadly we-pon call near Sixth Street and Fraser Avenue at around 1:15 a.m., according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. When they arrived, they found a boy who was sh-t.

He was taken to a local hospital, where he di-d, the sheriff’s department said.

Family and friends identified the victim as 17-year-old Joshua Aila. His sister said the teen was driving home after grabbing food with their younger brother when he was sh-t about a half-mile from where he lived.

They described Aila as a talented boxing coach who loved to help train his friends
